  1. For people playing it on base PS4 (god help you) and the Pro:

Switch off film grain and Chromatic Abberation. Keeping it on makes the blurry textures look worse somehow.

Personally, tapping out on this one. If there is a good game underneath this fugly looking, superficial mess, then I’ll find out next gen. I think more seasoned devs have spoiled console players this gen to expect a working game out of the box, which is making this game feel more jarring. They were working on this for 7 years?!

  2. Playing it on PS4 Pro. The interiors look beautiful, the character models are fantastic but as soon as you step outside in the actual open world section of the game, the whole thing falls looks like something from the PS3 era. Low texture models, delays in texture load, game crashes (I've had two in 3 hours of play). Don't feel like exploring the world, and even with the fixes incoming it feels kind of superficial.

The world building seems fantastic though, and the dialogues and missions seem to have multiple layers and dense tech-talk that feels real and lived in. I love sci-fi, so was getting a real kick out of it.

But this game is def not ready. And I think when the mass number of people get their hands on it, I don't think this will be what they expected.

  3. The last few years I’ve used my PS4 to watch Netflix more than play games.

And I was the same guy in 2015 who painstakingly saved money to build a PC and logged 200 hrs in The Witcher. Cut to 2019 and its the first year I haven’t played a single game. Only returned this year to the PS4 for TLOU2 and excess free time.

Excellent acting. Natural, like it's happening in reality. And the highlights are the individual stories of people who die.

Plus, the whole analogue look is awesome !

Edit: The end score is perfection.

Yes just making an original sci-fi in India that is not derivative feels like a major breakthrough. The score, the sets, and little design elements all felt like genuine though had been put into them, to overcome the obviously low budget.
Definitely want to check out more things from the director.

Cargo (Hindi, not English) is pretty decent. Very interesting premise. Hope they expand this world !

Yeah quite liked this one. Felt it could have been shorter, but there is so much happening that the film kept me entertained. The actors were really good.

  6. Yeah the reason for the apocalypse was pretty basic, and I had a vague idea of where the game's plot would go & who the villains would be even before I played it. But without getting into spoilers, I still had to wiki a bunch of the terminology towards the end.

I think the people complained more about lack of interesting characters than the actual plot, which is actually pretty interesting if you like Sci-fi.

  7. Almost all important strong characters are female in this game, except maybe the enemies. All have turned into Rambos and are on a killing spree. It's done to suit the narrative of a female protagonist. Haven't yet encountered a villain female though. All villains are male. Even kids who are assholes are male. It's kinda weird.

The first tribe is a matriarchy for story reasons. All other tribes you visit or talk to laugh about women warriors/women rulers; there are even guard dialogues among the Carja you hear when you roam around the city.

And people are talking as if Alloy is jacked up on 'roids Tank running around with dual-RPGs. The combat focus is towards stealth and speed for a reason.

As for men being bad guys, in a pre-historic society of hunters, i would have honestly expected a lot more rape and murder from them.

  8. Reached

    Meridian

    .
What a friggin disappointment. I've seen better cities in childrens drawings. Empty streets, the houses are locked and its filled with invisible barriers. Random village in TW3 had more character and personality. Even the open world is closer to MGS: phantom pain in how barren it feels.

Stay for the combat in this game, nothing else to see here other than that.

  9. Where's it available? I can't seem to find it.

I got it at the first merchant I met beyond the fort gate area to Meridian. Finish Seeker at the Gate.

  10. The sidequests are stupid fetch quests with not much story.

Where are the side quests? All I get are the errands.

They set up this great mystery of the world and Alloys story in it, but then kind of forget about it for a long time. It might be so that you get used to combat/level up before they send you further, but its kind of empty story-wise after act 1.

  11. Great combat in this. Visually its about fine, and doesnt have that open world feel of finding any random adventure/ weird encounter/random story wherever you go. The lore is interesting and gives a very The 100 vibe.
