  1. The best game of the year, and the most feels I have gotten since the ending of Witcher 3.

This is an all-time classic they have made here, something they will be writing about for years to come. Anybody on the fence should buy it. The controls are an issue for 2 hrs, and then you forget about it, and like someone said above, don't spam the control buttons and it should be fine.

  2. How about creating a spoiler thread and putting all this in there. :ranting:

I don't know if its a spoiler i haven't reached the ending. And in a game where the only two characters are about to fall from a cliff every few minutes, is it that far fetched that in the binary between life and death, its one or the other. I doubt the game will end with Trico being revealed as a (SPOILER ALERT) Donald Trump supporter. Or a mecha from the Transformers franchise. Or Darth Vader.

Jesus...get a grip on it guys.

  3. Took me less than 5 mins to clear that. Stop throwing the barrel randomly, the game hints where you need to throw them. marked by broken glass.

Not if you don't feed him and do the other pulley movement first. Then you are kind of stuck waiting for him to enter without realizing you have to feed him. The game really likes its barrel puzzles.

Anyway I've gotten over those issues now. Just loving it for its awe-inspiring moments. The controls are incredibly counter-intuitive but you get the hang of them after a few hours, and you can control Trico better if you issue commands if you are closer to his head.

  4. Every time this game does something awesome, it immediately enjoy kicking you in the balls next with some of the most counter-intuitive button pushing i have ever done.

There is a barrel puzzle somehwere near the train tracks area that is the most irritating thing that i have ever played through a game in years.

  5. The game took me back to my PS2 era days, all controls are hit or miss and the camera swirling around trying to keep both the giant creature and the small boy in the frame.

But the true test is the moment you have to climb the creature and you have literally no way to turn yourself right-side up again.

This could and should have been play-tested more before release.

  6. One of the reasons this theory sounds right is Joel doesn't seemed to have aged in the trailer .

His dialogue reading seems more internal too "Now what are you going to do next?" Sounds like something you say to yourself. His appearance as a silhouette also made him seem more imaginary then real.

The home looks similar to the one in we see they end up in the DLC of Left Behind. My guess is we get to play him in the prologue, the way we got to play his daughter in the first game, all the way to his death.

  7. UK Sales Charts: Dishonored 2 Launch Sales Fall Short of Predecessor

Hope this isn't the end of the series. The Stilton Manor itself is one of the best stealth missions I have ever played.

The game doesn't really explore the world and the lore the way the first one did (Karnaka seems like Dunwall with a new coat of paint), but its still one of the best games of the year.

  8. Howz the performance on PS4?. People are saying PS4 version crashes alot and frame rate is real bad?

There is a lag when you hit the start menu mid-game. And the load times are a little longer than I want in stealth game which I reload often. But other than that its great so far.

Who are you playing as BTW? I'm playing as Emily first mainly because of her cool new powers but now that the game is open about the heart being Jessamine's, I really want to play as Corvo too to listen to all of the heart's dialogues specific to him.

First time I enter Karnaca Bay playing as Corvo for my test run, Jessamine's heart talks about how she had always wanted to visit so many such places with him which is something that will never happen now. That kinda hit me in the feels :\

Playing as Emily, it seemed to fit the story better than Corvo. As for the dialogue, she says the same thing to Emily so I'm guessing they have a bunch of dialogues that overlap.

PS. Use the heart on people, especially main characters, for secrets. This saved me in chapter 3 from making a huge error that would have made a very important secondary quest impossible to solve.

  10. This is a really good game. Everything about the 1st game times ten. The start can be a little clumsy, but once you enter Karnaka docks, you are done. It is dense, claustrophobic, challenging and really just drops you into the middle of a complex system of moving parts. (BTW first thing first remove the objective marker, the linear path is the worst path).

After updates on the ps4, there is some improvement in fps, the aliasing & stuttering is either gone or not noticeable. But there is a lag of a few seconds when you press the pause button. Load times are OK, long when you start the game, about ten seconds on loading quick saves.

  11. Playing on the PS4 just the intro level so far. Without the parch, the game is sluggish, delays on the menu screen, and artifacts that disappear etc. Will write back after installing the patch.

  12.

TBH this isnt a Deus Ex problem as its an RPG problem. All 3 Witcher games are particularly awful at this. But it is exacerbated here due to the awful load times.

Atleast with the witcher, I'm going through beautiful countryside and vistas, or can fast travel into a location. Here its the same blocky, dull location with npc count of a single village (or hell a single Bar) in W3.

16 hrs in and this feels like a good expansion pack to the original game. Bare-bones plot, indifferent story and some of the dullest characters since the last assassin creed. Gameplay is keeping me going.

Are not racist and xenophobic tendencies built off of stupid things like, colour of your skin, your dressing sensibilities, your socio-cultural mores and beliefs.

As far as I can see it has done that. Maybe in not the subtle ways but definitely relatable.

Funny you say it does not build its own world problems when past games in the franchise have always had some sort of social-commentary on offer which ties the problems that are constructs of human society and its structure.

Cue, something I dug up again.

Sci-fi is always an extension and extrapolation of current scenarios and issues. But it's never just that. An never so ham-fisted and forced as in MD or some other sci-fi games and media. Ideas lead to the world as it exists, and that one clip from the first game has more to say about human-kind than anything in the HR or MD. This game literally starts with the Iluminati in the middle of an evil meeting like they belong in a Assassins Creed game.

Even HR pushed the idea of an approaching singularity btw men and machines or a sentient AI controlling the future mediascape.

The first game pushed 'augs' as an evolution, this game wants to connect them to minorities and refugees. Maybe it's heart is in the right place, but the execution isn't. Super-man Jensen isn't a poor black kid, and people with shiny metal on their face are not Syrian refugees. Making the one-to-one parallel as obvious as this game does (without going into depth about why normals human beings would hate, despise and feel jealous from augs other than just "terrorist attack!") makes it a simpler game for kids, not serious sci-fi the way the original was.

  14. On PC, switching off MSAA and contact hardening shadows solved the fps issues. Still crashed once when a new area loaded though.

As for the game, its good. Really good. Not as intelligent as the original or as involving as HR, but good.

The gameplay has been refined, even if the world-building is much simpler.

I mean its a little silly to compare people wearing what is basically Google glasses to racism and Islamophobia.

Kind of wish it just took its own world as it was with its own issues, than find real world parallels it can't obviously live up to.

But once you stop rolling your eyes at every line of earnest and super-serious dialogue about 'aug-discrimination', you start to see a really good game underneath it.

  15.

Eh! The GTX880M is a GTX780M with a higher clock, I would not expect wonders out of it primarily because of how nVidia runs its ships now a days.

    .

I have a GTX 970 on an i-7 and the game crashed after the cutscene on Prague.

Haven't gotten the latest update, but would that make that big a diff?

  16. So, I refunded Deus Ex on steam and I will pick up the PS4 version from Gadgets Pune in sometime. The game was just horrible on my PC. Was indeed a very sad night, the shitty pc port killed all the hype for me.

Getting serious fps drops on very high and medium too. And i more than make the recommended specs (except for RAM).

  17. what? why?

    I never asked for this.

But its divided into many quadrants with each being bigger than the Philadelphia or Hengsha district of HR. Some of the missions take you out of the country (? are there still countries in Deus Ex world?) as well.

The common thread seems to be the ending, but DE: HR had a sh*t ending too where sci-fi is abruptly dropped for zombie mode and press one of three switches to change the world BS.

  18. Mobile game thread, wow. Next we know there would be a Candy Crush thread. Since apparently everyone is playing that too.

Well this has become a worldwide cross-cultural phenomena. I see people standing in line in front of me at the railway station playing the game. It might be a fad forgotten in a few week, but its bot a stretch that a forum for games make a page for it.

  19. Any update on Indian release date?

Release it on iOS plox :samui:

Just change your region, or make a new account and download it. I keep a US apple account just to download beta and updates.

On android, there is an api you can easily find.
