  1. You don't need a Jtag to run ahem games, his friend could have easily modded any 360 if that was his purpose.

I already have that kind of modification in my Jasper, but being able to use XBLA and DLCs along with it and also being able to boot games off any media and having total control over it has always been my dream

These kinda Xboxes are getting RARE day by day coz the newer ones are getting patched directly at the factory by Microsoft.

You need to meet certain criteria for being able to JTAG your box...

    1) Your manufacture date should be BEFORE June 2009.

    2) Your dashboard should be BELOW 7371.

My Jasper met with both of those criteria but I unknowingly booted up one of those latest games and installed the latest update off the disc :P Back then, I didn't know about JTAG.

Anyways, this is one hell of an opportunity

  2. The Mod God strikes again

Great bargain hunting there KG

Thanx. But you know, I didn't bargain at all. I had all the intention of bargaining thinking he'll sell his RROD console for some money, but when he said he'll throw in the console for free, I was like....okay :good:

  3. congrats...but whats JTAGGED?

    What is the JTAG Hack?

This is a new hack which can boot homebrew code in less than 5 seconds. For now, all we need to know is that this is a new way to exploit the well-known 4532 kernel, in a way which also works on updated machines, unless they have been updated by the summer '09 update. It also works on all hardware types.

What does the JTAG hack allow me to do?

The JTAG hack unlocks your 360 and gives full control over it. Allowing.

    - Linux

    - Homebrew

    - Unsigned Code

    - Use a Re-booter (Freeboot or XBReboot).

@KG, missed out on this deal. when a friend of mine PM'ed on my behalf he told me you'd already spoken to him and the deal was on hold for u..... awesome.. i was planning to get it from him and fix it myself but you got to him first  congrats!

Thanx dude. You know, the minute I saw that his games were old titles and his console was missing from his sale, I PMed him and got his phone number. Spoke with him on phone, and he said that he got it from the US and even replaced it once from the US, but it RRODed twice thereafter, and he repaired it twice himself, but then gave up. As far as I can remember, he even said the Xbox 360 has been lying dead for almost a year now.

These things were more than enough for me to think that may be if I can repair his RROD console and just MAY BE I'll get an exploitable dashboard

You know, poor chap xoceter, his console is BARELY USED, and I feel for him :( Really great guy by the way :good:

When we opened up the console, the motherboard looked BRAND SPANKING NEW (shiny green B)) except one of the transistor had broken off. My friend had a dead Falcon motherboard, and he skillfully removed that transistor and applied it to my board. He did all his RROD fixing with all the mumbo jumbo :( and it WORKED!!! :)

He even did the fan mod where he said now those fans are running at 12V (max speed) all the time. It took him almost 2 hours to fix this thing, and being a great friend that he is, he charged me nothing

So yeah...I literally got this console in working condition for free

  4. My second Xbox 360 :nerves:

I actually own a Jasper Xbox 360, and I got this one for free :P I got this Xbox 360 (Falcon) in a dead condition with RROD. One of the small transistor thingie had also fallen off. A member here who goes by the name of "xoceter" was selling parts of his Xbox 360. I PMed him and inquired about his Xbox 360, and he said that his Xbox 360 RRODed thrice, and he gave up on fixing it. I told him I was interested in acquiring it, and he said that if I purchase the HDD and the power brick that he'll throw in the dead console, and I agreed. Paid 1500 for the brick, 1000 for the HDD, zilch for the console, and 550 bucks DTDC Air Cargo shipping. I didn't bargain B)

Main reason behind my decision.....is stated below the third pic :chair:

Anyways, received the Xbox, the HDD, and power brick in excellent condition yesterday and got the RROD repaired by a VERY GOOD FRIEND of mine and a professional PS2 and Xbox 360 modder :)

    And here it is....

    2zsppw2.jpg

in superb working condition. He even did a fan mod and now the fans run at MAX speed all the time :D

You know....I had a VERY GOOD HUNCH that his Xbox 360 wasn't updated since the games that he was selling were quite old and that turned out to be true.

Check out the dashboard version :D

    epp1dk.jpg

Know what that means ? I can get this baby JTAGGED :hi:

    Thanx a lot xoceter :)

    finally

big thanks to kunal, karoo & reddevilgautam :panic::wOOtjumpy: for helping me decide and to joy for :naughty::tease:

Dude...how much did you get it for and from where ? Also, how do you connect this to the Xbox 360 ?

This would be awesome for me too, as it wouldn't disturb anyone else in my home :loco:

Desperately waiting for a reply :loco:

  6. Can't say I bought this but I just HAD to post it:

Look what I got very recently on a Jet Airways Flight to Bombay before the opening ceremony

Didn't have anything on me 'cept the flight ticket that I could get autographed by MSD.

Also missed one more Razer item I got in my last post!

    Who's MSD

I would so like to have one of those doorknob message cards

  7. Ahem..... I have absolutely no clue as to what is going on above me.

But here are my recent purchases, spread over couple of weeks

    1. Dell SP2309W - Rs.15300 (From Dell)

    2. Xbox 360 Arcade - Rs.14500 (From a local vendor)

    3. PS3 Slim 120 GB - Rs. 20740 (From Croma)

Will post pics of my current setup in the morning.

    Night :panic:

I see you got that extended warranty thing from Croma. Even I am thinking of picking one up in wake of GOW3

    Congrats :ranting:

  8. i am sure IMAX will be totally worth your time and money...it will be better than normal 3D...although i hve only seen it in normal 3D...but i am sure IMAX will be a different exeperience altogether...enjoy

Thanx a lot for the replies guys. We're going in on Sunday. Will post here of what I think

  9. Just saw it myself last week. And I really want to watch it again. Words won't suffice to describe how awesome the movie is. I am GLAD I saw it in theater. The world of Pandora is one of the most beautiful pieces of art I have seen, I am sure the experience wouldn't be half as fun on small LCD as on the big screen.

You saw it in Imax 3D or regular 3D ?

And yeah...the movie is REALLY GOOD :)

  10. Hi guys,

I saw Avatar 3D at Fun Cinemas in Chember with a few friends, and the movie was really good. Now, I've heard that Avatar 3D Imax is much much better, from a couple of friends who have seen the same movie at Imax, Wadala. They are saying it's totally worth it to see it again in Imax.

I wanna know who here has seen the IMAX version of Avatar 3D. Is it worth spending again and watching it ? Me and a few friends are thinking of checking it out this Sunday at Imax, Wadala. What say ?

  11. Yup. 5750 is not ATi best effort.

Yeah...I just googled. 4870 is way better than 5750. 5750 only brings DX11 to the table and performs poorer than 4870. Also, by the time DX11 games become mainstream, a 5750 will be a poor performer. Hell, even a 5770 has a tough time performing close to a 4870.
