    They are Made in Singapore [ Both of them ] got it for 375 shipped. Pretty good price imo. Order it from MediaHome.in, very good seller and is very prompt.

    hi guys

    i own a ps3 but am considering buying a 360 by selling it off.

    i want to know if it is a correct decision or not(please answer honestly)

    Also i will need ur answers earliest cause i will be buying it within 1-2days.pls help out guys.

     

    Dude...it really depends on what YOU want and which games you wanna play :). If you think 360 games are worth it, then go ahead. ;)

    Nothing like that bro just thought its more appropriate here then having a seprate thread that is all.

     

    Please read my earlier posts...(about setting some guidelines/criteria about merging threads)

     

    And the only reason I didn't put this in General Chatter is coz we have a PC section. I never knew it was only for PC Gaming. I thought if I put a PC related convo in General Chatter it would be moved to PC section anyways....

    And who made you the boss ??? Guys....we'll never have any conversation going like this if all the threads get merged. How many people do you think are religiously checking out the ask the experts thread ?

     

    Don't you think it would be seen by many other people who MIGHT be able to help out in that situation ?

     

    Anyways, it was never my intention to get any "advice" I just wanted to know who's using what and thats it ? Do you think people will even come to know about this in this thread ???

     

    well dude how is antivirus related to gaming....so any issue that relates to pc and is not gaming related can rest here.

     

    Hmm...so what you're trying to say is that we're not allowed to make any threads that are not related to gaming ?

    Dude...whatever made you think I needed any "expert advice" on this ? Take a proper look at my post...I just wanted to know who is using which antivirus and I wanted their impression on that not some advice. I already know Nod32 is one of the best, and am already using it.

     

    There was absolutely no need to merge this thread. Do you think am a noob or something...recklessly creating threads that you had to merge it ? Come one....

     

    We seriously need some guidelines as to which thread meets the criteria of getting merged into one common thread that no one is ever going to read.

    Hi guys,

     

    I wanted to know which antivirus people are using over here in India/GI. I know that Norton, Trend Micro, and McAfee suck as hell and are resource hogs, but I recently got let down by AVG 8.0. AVG is or shall I say WAS one of the best antivirus program I had every come across. Very low in resources and very good at keeping you safe and of course the best part of it was that it was free :) but the moment they stopped support for 7.5 and forced people to use AVG 8.0, it sucked. AVG 8.0 sucks and is full of bugs. Its become a resource hog and recently it just stopped working all of a sudden. I had the free edition, and I had been using the 7.5 version for almost 2 years now :(

     

    I've heard a lot about Nod32 and that its one of the BEST antivirus programs out there in the market today, but the only problem is that its not free. I went ahead and downloaded the *ahem* version and installed it. As of right now, its working perfectly fine :)

     

    Also, I've heard much about Avast also, but am not sure how good it is :)

     

    So guys....which antivirus do you use ? Give us your impression on the one you use :)

    Good news: I bought a new PS3 from US ;):D:D

     

    Bad News: Will have to wait till Tuesday as my bro will bring it along with him :P

     

    Am not sure about this but just checkout its "Power Adapter" status, as to whether it'll also work as a stepdown convertor coz US has 110 v and we got 220 v in our homes. You might just end up blowing up your PS3 :P

     

    I have a US Wii and I have to use a stepdown convertor :)

     

    Edit: Forgot to say....Congrats...I know you'll enjoy it ;)

    I would actually suggest Dell XPS M1330 over Macbook simply because the config is a lot better. If she's doing video and audio editing, a macbook pro is better suited compared to a Macbook because a macbook ships with Intel X3100 which is basically an onboard video. Its better to get Dell XPS because you have an option of adding a video card prolly in the lines of Nvidia 8 series plus its cheaper to update a Dell XPS compared to a Macbook.

     

    I will suggest a macbook only if you are buying from abroad because they just cost 1k$ but paying 1600$+ is not worth it.

    You might also wanna look up Dell XPS 1530.

    oh and Leopard has loads of problems. So if you get Leopard, just downgrade it to Tiger.

    Wow...great find dude. Thanx a lot :D XPS looks really good :D But there aren't any in 17" models. I think I can get an HP laptop at 17" with at least a T7500 C2D, but if I think its too bulky, I might just get the XPS 1530 ;), which is about the same price :)

    dv6000 series is good .... but 1 fukup iv realised with the pavillion series is tht the battery heats up a lot ....and hence after a while the keyboard also gets warm....

     

    id suggest goin for the HP model tht comes without windows(install OEM vista ultimate urself :D ).... i cant recollect model but its got insane specs and its for 40-45k (checked 2 weeks back) its silver in colour and 15" screen....

     

    Wow, sounds worth a try. Where did you see it ? All the latest laptops are coming preinstalled with Vista and my transcription softwares get f**ked up on Vista :P and thats why I'll have to install Windows XP or get a genuine XP copy with it. I don't mind if I have to do the installation of XP myself but if the specs were really good and it was around 40-45k, then its worth checking out.

     

    Care to tell me where you saw it ? and can you remember some specs ?

    The HP TX1000 is pretty swish, and the dv2401 is pretty cool too, check them out.

     

    Hmm...the TX1000's screen size is pretty small. I'll be using it for my work and I need at least a 15" or 17" Widescreen monitor, so that model is ruled out, although it looks really cute :P. Also, no AMD for me. I'll prefer going with Intel Core2Duo. :P

     

    I also checked out dv2401. Again, its a 14", and I would prefer going with a 15" or a 17". Mobility ain't THAT important over here as I'll just be carrying it from my workplace to my home occasionally. And no I don't intend to buy a Desktop :P

    Hi guys,

     

    I am going to buy a new laptop pretty soon, (max in a week or two), and I have decided to buy an HP laptop as one of my cousins' friend owns a huge HP showroom in Vashi. I'll be visiting that place with my cousin who buys laptops from that friend all the time. They at least own 15 laptops in their own household and thats why he gets good discount on any purchase.

     

    Now, since the brand has been decided, can you guys suggest me a good HP laptop ? Please do not recommend ANY OTHER BRAND laptops. Max price I can go is Rs. 70,000/-.

    Guys....am not buying a Macbook okay. They are costly and most of my software WOULDN'T WORK on Mac OS.

     

    So now can anyone please answer my questions. I need to get this thing cleared off as soon as possible and make a proper decision. If the graphics card isn't any good, then I'll just buy the laptop without it and use it only for business purposes.

    So, guys, I wanted to ask, is 8600M really any good ? Is it worth it ? I mean I always wanted a gaming PC but the area I live in has really bad loadshedding for 4 to 5 hours :( thats why the laptop, and although am going to be using it for business purposes, I intend to play a few 360 to PC ports like Overlord, Lost Planet, Bioshock, etc.....so is it good ?
