I bought Hogwatz legacy long ago, I haven’t even completed half of the game yet. Tried twice and gave up mid way.

I love how even after so many years rdr2 is still the gold standard for open world game design
-
Yeah no such scenes, it’s made for theatrical family viewing I guess. Also I think first time for an Indian movie, it’s shot in Azerbaijan completely !

Try “vidayamuracchi” on Netflix if you liked Leo. I liked this one much better. I later got to know it’s a remake of breakdown, but since I hadn’t watched it I liked this movie. Also it’s not typical masala movie with non stop action, it’s more of a thriller and I felt it’s much more grounded compared to regular masala movies. Even the Malayalam film - officer on duty(Netflix) was pretty good too , although it’s not your typical masala entertainer.

Cool, nice change of pace/genre, is this open world or more of a limited open area/corridor shooter like doom ?

Ok, so 24h into the game, recruited all the companions I guess, on level 23 now. The game has been pretty good so far. Contrary to the cartoony visuals, the game has been very mature in its content so far. I just don’t get what’s up with all the hate. I haven’t played inquisition, so maybe the fans of that game didn’t like it ? Even writing wise, except the fact that you can’t go aggressive/piss of your companions, it’s been good so far. At least the main quest has been engaging until now !

Completed the game, it was a decent game, very good in certain aspects, but “room for improvement” in others. Pros: - engaging plot, kept me hooked until the very end as I couldn’t wait to discover what’s going on ! - brilliant side stories/mysteries and collectibles quests which are engaging on their own. - decent puzzles, not too hard, not too straight forward, makes you feel good after you solve them on your own ! - very good settings/atmosphere, especially loved the Vatican and gizeh levels with hidden pathways/alleys/puzzles etc. Sukhotai was alright. - great voice acting, Harrison Ford character model has been nailed true to his original self along with all his mannerisms. - good background music which makes you feel as if you’re playing an interactive Hollywood movie ! Cons: - horrible combat design. I tried my best to escape enemies as much as I can, especially at later levels. - very bad final boss fight and most mini boss fights are done badly too, again mostly due to bad combat design! - some set pieces could’ve been better, I find the transition between 3p -> 1p jarring in some cases.

That scene where Martin Scorsese breaks down Also, started with se03 of reacher on prime video, and man, where on earth did they get a guy twice the size of reacher
-
lol and you were comparing it to rdr 2 there’s a reason r* takes such long times to release games. Building an interactive open world is far tougher than it looks. Even cdpr had to slog for multiple iterations/years to make cp2077 work and even now it’s not even close to gta5, let alone rdr2. Most ubi games(in fact most open world rpg games) are passive sandboxes, nothing wrong with it though, we can still enjoy them when the main quest/characters/side stories/combat etc are good and the open world is just a backdrop !

Different audience for each game !

The sukhotai levels are a pain, they were good ideas on paper but badly executed. Especially dislike those underwater sections !
-
I played it on pc gp long ago, it was good for a while (esp the cutscenes) , but the novelty wore off after a while. I finally gave up in that blizzard/mountain level. The gameplay loop had become incredibly monotonous and boring for me by then ! I just saw a yt video on how the story concludes !
-
Same here, this might be awesome but with a huge backlog this has to wait. I couldn’t finish the previous ac games- valhalla/odyssey/origins either, in fact the only ac game I’ve finished is ac2 on x360 😂

Watching adolescence on Netflix and man it’s slooooow ! I’m used to slow burn shows like mad men or Bosch, but this is like literally watching a documentary/bunch of ppl talk in a room for one hour ! I’m in the third episode and still dont get what the hype is all about - is it the style of shooting (with camera following the actors non stop) or there’s some twist to the story /deep revelation in the 3rd/4th episode ?
-
Lol, not asking about the game in general but just the open world specifically. Anyway, I won’t be able to play this anytime soon, have a massive backlog to wade through first ! Got it ! Random encounters would be a welcome addition I guess, most ac games I’ve played so far have been pretty passive sandboxes , glad they took this to the next level !

So good huh ? Is the open world as interactive as rdr 2 ? Like can you fool around doing random stuff ?

It shows yearly plan to be still cheaper, coming to just 449 per month. Of course depends on how long it takes you to complete, for someone like me I need at least 3-4 months to complete a game like this. also cool that the game is receiving accolades. I’ll wait for discounts and some fixes/patches/instruments to come in.

How much did you get and where did you sell ?
-
Just completed the quest about that demon guy and looks like the game has opened up a bit now, see a couple of side quests on my map. Also after some 7h or so of gameplay, I’m digging the artwork/visuals too, it’s very dark fantasy world-esque and cities/environments are designed accordingly. There’s a good amount of lore to read through as well. The gameplay is still kinda flat, hope I get to unlock some cool abilities later!
-
When does the game open up ? Finished that dock town quest but I still don’t see any side quests marked on my map nor have I met any NPC, who is going to give me any quest!
-
Yeah, completed side quests in the first two regions, including those fight rings.
-
I’m in the sukhotai region now, the game has been fantastic so far ! Only thing is some of the mysteries are locked behind those flyers/notes which we need to purchase, and not many quests give out enough rewards to purchase them !
-
I don’t blame them though. 2-3 years back (assuming that’s when the game was in dev), DEI was one of the top priorities for many western companies.
