Also the Ashes of War system completely replaces the Infusion system from Dark Souls. So you no longer have to hunt for infusion gems if you want a particular kind of scaling on your weapon (for example, int, faith or quality scaling), as each Ash of War will put a different type of scaling on your weapon.
This does a lot to streamline the upgrade system and improve flexibility of builds, imo.

Many tweaks to combat. Much better and faster magic system. Block-counter mechanic to block with a shield and do a powerful counterattack. A hidden “stance” meter similar to posture system from Sekiro. Etc.
Biggest core difference I think is the customisable weapon skills. Gives a lot more flexibility to your build. It’s basically a huge improvement on the weapon arts system in Dark Souls 3.

From Software needed to upgrade their engine, because in some recent report as it seems that PC version will also be locked at 60fps. A bummer tbh.
Yes From Software’s engine is a bit outdated now, and I’m sure they will be using a significantly better engine for their next game. If they had focused on making a new engine for Elden Ring, it would have taken several more years for the game to release.
I don’t think people appreciate how efficient From Software are at developing games. Releasing a large full sized game on a regular schedule every 3 years is no mean feat. At this point in time, Elden Ring is their magnum opus that builds on the work on all their previous games, so it makes no sense to change engines now. After Elden Ring, I’m sure Fromsoft will move into a new phase with a new engine to boot.

The combat looks so much smoother than ever before, incorporating various elements from previous From games. The new block-counter mechanic seems to be a game changer, allowing you to be far more aggressive even while avoiding damage. And like in Bloodborne, it seems like you can quickstep again, and not have to roll like a maniac everywhere.
The map design seems inspired from Breath of the Wild more than anything else, in that it has no labels and is a terrain map first and foremost. It provides a visual overview of the terrain and structures without telling you what you can find at each location, preserving the sense of discovery even while following the map. This is the best way to do open world maps imo.

Yes but I'm mostly concerned with the bot working properly on 17th May itself, as the drop may not happen exactly at 12pm. That's what happened last time. And I'd really prefer not to be pressing F5 all day.
That's like saying married men who don't like Amanda Cerny don't exist.
Doubt there'll be a surprise drop anytime leading up to 17th May. Stay strong and stay focussed. -

It depends on how much you want to play Demon's Souls. I really want to play it lol. A blind first playthrough of a From Software game is something to crave.Is it me or anyone feels like they don't need the ps5 now ? Like I can easily wait for 3-5 months. This thread only got me on the FOMO train
Now that all the fizz is gone I think all those without one might have the same feeling ?!!?!??!-
