It was a clinical chase by CSK #Whistlepodu
-
i think that is wrong, see below. B1 Vs A2 and so on, so since we are top we play lower teams, guess they will fix it soon.
@GS:
, on current form yes. I think they should juggle between Sharma and Raina.India will be playing against Australia, SA and possibly Pakistan. A1 and A2 are assigned when the teams are grouped. In our group England is A1 and India is A2. So when both the teams are qualified, it remains the same regardless of where they finish in the point table

I think GOD saga pack is for $40. But still the price is awesome, considering it has 5 games

Well boys, we must mourn this defeat of the champions at the hands of a very lucky KKR XI. CSK won half of the final but something went terribly wrong for the other half unfortunately. My hero, the captain, MS Dhoni, Jadeja, Raina , aww so disappointing

Twenty20 World cup in September, here is my 11. We get this team, i can promise you all today that we will bring back the cup.
1. Viru
2. Gautam Gambhir
3.Shikhar Dhawan
4. Yuvraj > if not fit then Manish Pandey
5. Raina
6. Jadeja
7. Captain Dhoni
8. Irfan Pathan
9. Ashwin
10. Zaheer Khan
11. Vinay Kumar
Where is Kohli?
Shikhar Dhawan can be in 15 as a reserve opener, not in the playing 11. jadeja does not deserve to be in the playing 11, may be some other bowler or allrounder -
Yup altough Dhonoi had the luck, other teams screwed up badly, wat business did RCB have not to chase down to 130 odd, CSK also proved they belonged and made a mockery of MI and DD. But in the end i think we have a deserving champion and even a hardcore CSk fan does not deny that.
but Screw you SRK

KKR are the deserved champions of this year's IPL for the way the played the league matches and playoffs. Chasing 190 in a final is not a easy task and they did it with ease. Hats off to Bisla and Kallis. Even though my team lost, i am happy for the way they have played. Win or lose, my support is always with CSK. Will be back in Champions League.
happy that csk lost
arrogance frm few of csk players (and their mafia owner) was just too much to bear
murli vijay ,jadeja,ashwin,srikants son etc
on related note laxman siva ramanan krishnan is the most biased commentator i have ever heard
felt like throwing a shoe at him when they showed him on screen
As you comment states you are not against CSK players, you are against Tamilnadu players. And regarding the owner, CSK is the only team (If i am not wrong) where the focus will be always on the players when the match is being played.
Regarding commentator, are you sure about this. Have you put your TV to mute when Sunil Gavaskar was commentating when Mumbai Indians were playing?

The team which loses the playoff also has a chance to qualify for the champions league. They will have to play the qualifiers along with teams from Srilanka, New zealand, england and the west indies...
Last year all the four ipl teams played because there was one less team. And since this time they are planning to have a team from pakistan, which means i think only three teams will be there from IPL teams. So DD, KKR and winer of MI vs CSK will be there is CL
-
Thank you DC

knocked out RR and RCB, now MI has qualified for Champions League irrespective of next match's result
MI has not qualified for the hampions league. Winner of MI vs CSK match will qualify along with DD and KKR for the champions league.
CSK when lost the last league match against Punjab, everyone thought they are out of the competition. Even i thought that 3 games going in our favour is a very tough chance. Hats off to Deccan. To say CSK is lucky is bit too much. yeah they had the results going in their favor. It is basically the fault of the teams like RR, RCB and Punjab to win matches when they needed to. After Chennai finished their last league match, RR and RCB had 2 matches left and Punjab had one match left. It is their fault to win the matches at the right time to get into the playoffs
-
Unknown players or not,it damages the reputation of the IPL.Already lots of people are suspicious of the IPL matches and such incidents don't help.India TV is POS channel,no doubt, but every trustworthy news outlet(TOI,NDTV,Espncricinfo etc) has carried the story,so the damage is done.
BBCI has also said that it has found some evidence against the players and hence the suspension.
There are so many politicians shown in the TV channels showing them they are doing corruption and the reputation of the democracy is gone. Is people not living in this place. Continue living with this

Maybe you're right, WWE is orchestrated, but not everything, only the endings and the major turning points, all the rest is upto the two wrestlers who communicate with each other throughout the whole match.
Cricket match fixing is different and most probably not as organized as you've stated but I merely meant to say that things such as 6 on the last ball are logically possible.
That lollipop full toss was

It is possible to hit a 6 of a last ball, but you need to have the timing, power and perfection to clear them. Consider the match where MI won against CSK where MI chased 14 of the three balls, where 2 of the balls were low fulltoss, but it is very tough to hit those low full tosses out of the ground. But smith did it because of his talent.
-
You watch WWE so you should have an idea of how things can take place in such a scenario ala "wanna do a ddt"
Let's just assume that the final ball is fixed, the bowler checks his run-up and whispers to the umpire nonchalantly that "slow ball off stump" or something, the umpire then passes it to the non-striker who then has a chat with the striker before the final ball and conveys the message to him.
It is easy to hit a ball to the boundary when you know what to expect.
Wow thats a great assumption for your mind. Hats off to you
To add to the point. People follow the game just get over it when the team they are supporting losses and praise the other team for their efforts. But the people who madly following the team or hate the game, just keep on telling match fixing for each and every thing
-
Because these guys never played real cricket in their life. I was big hitter myself, I was used to be called by other teams in the colony to play for them, and I know it first hand about how difficult it is to hit a six on a ball when everything depended on it. The match pressure, the pressure of getting the money (assume it is fixed) is too much to make proper connection even if it is a dolly fulltoss.
Basically these kind of comments are made by people who just blindly follow the team they are supporting instead of supporting the game. People who just follow the game will never come into this kind of discussion, even though they support a particular team, they know even if their team losses, they will also think about how the other team has done well to win the match.

This will be true for a boy from any part of India other than Pune

-
Dude, its not all that simple, if we follow your logic, then delhi can loose their last 3 matches as well, Punjab can win their next 3 matches as well. considering different variables involved i would call 18 a safe bet, there are too many things which would have to go wrong for a team to score 18 points and still not make it
It is not like too many things to happen. We are at the end of the tournament, so it is just winning two consecutive matches for most of the teams, which can happen. There are so many possibilities a team with 18 can go out
For Eg. If Either RCB or CSK reaches 19 points, i am sure atleast one can reach that, which makes MI to be 4th on the list with 18 points. so as per your point, they win one of the 3 matches. Out of the losses, if one comes against RR and RR has one match left with Deccan, which RR will win. So RR will also be on 18 points and RRs runrate is better than MI. so RR will get in to the top four.
I am not saying ou can't go with 18 points, i am just saying 18 is not safe. I think teams can go thru even with 17 points, considering most of the other games goes in their favour.
-
Can some one post a thorough analysis of remaining matches and what the results will do?
It is very difficult to analyze and predict what could happen as there are about 7 teams fighting for the four spots. So each game would be important. I just say fight for four spots just beacause no team is yet to seal the spot.
If DD losses all the remaining matches they will be out, (Punjab, DD, Punjab)
If KKR losses all the matches or win only against Pune also they might be out based on Run rate (CSK, MI, Pune)
If MI losses 2 out of the three matches they might will be out (RCB, KKR, RR)
If RCB losses 2 matches they might be out or even they lose 1 match they might be out based on Run rate(MI, Deccan, DD)
If CSK loses one match they might be out (KKR, Punjab)
If RR, loses one match they will be out (Deccan, MI)
If Kings 11 loses one match they will be out. (DD, CSK, DD)
So may be we can get a clearer picture after all the teams finish one more match each.

No rain in Bangalore please

-
no. MI just needs to win 1 out of 3
18 points is not safe, the teams to reach 19 or above to be safe. If RCB wins against MI and Deccan, they will reach 19 points and if CSK beats KKR and Kings11 they will also reach 19 points, which means MI will be on 18 points and out. So any team has to reach atleast 19 points, which might not be also safe considering there are chances where more teams will be in 19 and one of the team might be out of the competition based on the run rate
-
MI vs RCB - whoever losses will have a tough chance to quality, as the team losses has to win both matches after this one
-
19 points means they are easily in e playoffs. Anything above 18 means a guaranteed place
19 points is mot safe for CSK, if RCB wins all the matches and MI wins all matches except against RCB. and KKR winning with good runrate against Pune. DD, KKR, MI and RCB will go through. But if DD losses to Kings 11 twice then DD will be out and it will be MI, RCB, CSK and KKR
All depends on tomorrow's match between RCB and MI, hopefully there is no rain, if it rains then it will be tough for CSK even with 19 points.
-
I was waiting to see what happens when DD and KKR losses few wickets at the top and it happened on the same day, both of them lost today. Since for both teams the top order has been brilliant in most of the matches.
-
Yeah Punjab is a lot better position having played 2 games les than chennai, they still have to win the matches though
Punjab has tough chance, but can't rule them out after seeing the performance of DD today. They have 2 matches against DD, one against CSK and one against Deccan
RR has a better chance than Kings XI IMO — easier fixtures. If RR lose tomorrow and MI win against RCB on Monday, the current top four will qualify in all probability. *fingers crossed*
Rajasthan may be has couple of easy matches against Pune and Deccan and one against Mumbai. For RR they have to win all the 3 matches which puts MI in a tough position considering MI has matches against RCB and KKR. Out of which RCB i am not sure whether the match happens as it is raining pretty heavily in Bangalore in the evening. So it makes the table interesting if the match is washed out.
So tomorrow's matches will decide the fate of RR and Punjab. If in case Pune and Deccan become party spoilers tomorrow. Then it would be direct fight between MI, RCB and CSK for the last two spots. Considering DD and KKR wins atleast one of the remaining macthes. Otherwise they will also join the fun

-
Pune or DC or both will spoil other team's party and help CSK

Even i was expecting the same. But after seeing the performance of DC yesterday. I have lost faith with DC, scoring 190 runs and making the opponent score those runs in 17 overs.

-
Heh, we've always been like that. Scrape through to the semis and BOOM -- two one sided matches and the title is in the bag. It's insane that they've managed to chase 40+ runs in two overs this season. TWICE. Having said that, they should never have gotten into that position to begin with. It's not helping that Dhoni's been hopeless on the slower tracks. All in all a great team playing average cricket.
Yeah that is how CSK has gone to playoffs apart from the last season. But this time it will be more tougher, as they have to face DD and KKR before facing Kings11 in the remaining matches
-
Need to buck up big time. Unbelievable that we're still in with a shout after playing so badly this season.
So happy to see that Dada has been thrown out unceremoniously. PWI has a better chance tomorrow.
yeah one of th bad season, similar to 2010 where CSK lost 5 out of the first 7 games, then fought back to win the title. I think they they left it too late putting too much price on the wicket. Hopefully they will rectify and put a better performance. Tough matches ahead with DD and KKR
It all depends on how Dc & Pwi play.. Whichever team they beat goes out.. So now they are real party spoilers...
Yeah thats right. both RR and RCB has one match each against Deccan and Pune. Those matches will decide the fate of these two teams.

oh crap. 8.5 overs rain stoppage for 10 mins. after 1 ball bowled, there is a strategic time out
