Quick question , whats the possibility of this 25% off discount coming back during Christmas time ? I currently don't have much time to play till December end , and I also have some switch games to finish before that, so just wanted to know if I should subscribe now at this price or wait till Christmas.

So I checked the bill Vijay Sales gave me. It doesnt have any info on the warranty, no date or as stickers s mentioned by SkinTight Tuna
I think that's because LG Oled tvs have a standard warranty period of 3 yrs comprehensive warranty. Whereas for the Sony TV, the 3 yrs warranty is only during this current offer period, hence we need the sticker, and this sticker is placed by the Sony technician when he comes to install the TV.

Same case, installion guy sticks a small sticker that says 3 year warranty on invoice and not on warranty card. On warranty card it says 2 year additional warranty on panel only. I think this is last years offer print. Seems normal to me. Just in case i have downloaded the sony terms pdf which mentions of 3 year warranty.
Also check your vs invoice you must have received 0.75% of points against the tivo purchase. Use them after a week to get 2k discount on extended warranty from vijay sales.
Am definately buying the EW from VS in a week or so for 27700ish i think.
Also whats the mfg month of your unit. Mine is July 22 but i checked with service menu my hour usage was 0
Lastly have you checked out A7 or A9 home theatre?
My mfg year is also July , but there.s also a small line there saying " Route 00001 dt: 13/08/2022 " Vijay Sales , so I'm guessing it was delivered to them on that date.
Where did you find the pdf for the warranty details ? Can you share the link with me ? I got it confirmed on a phone call , but I've also sent them an email asking for confirmation in writing , let's see what they say.
I don't think I'm gonna go for the EW , I don't trust Onsitego , they don't have very good reviews online. Let me know if you have used the points and how much the EW costs in the end.
I already have a Philips Soundbar with a Subwoofer, sounds pretty good. No plans for a Home Theatre system anytime soon , especially the A7 or A9 , which are quite expensive. I've connected the Soundbar via HDMI arc , it's super convenient as compared to an Optical cable.

I would recommend you take the ew for as long tenure as possible. Same is also available from Sony directly as well. I believe from sony you can purchase this within 1 year from your Date of Purchase and from Vijay Sales within 11 months from DOP.
I also closed down on Sony A95K yesterday for 2.42L after cb and awaiting delivery today.
Could you confirm if they provided you with swivel wall mount or fix? Also was it sony branded or some local.
As i own A9G and they provided swivel wall mount with it, but now VSE said sony dont provide swivel with Master Series anymore.
Just had a chat with a sony executive , and also called up the Sony Center in Pune to double check. Apparently there.s no option for extended warranty past 3 yrs from Sony. So basically this 3yr comprehensive warranty is the max through Sony.
So any extended warranty will be through a 3rd party , which is too risky IMO.
-
I have a question about the warranty scene for the A95k. The Vijay Sales invoice has a sticker on it that says 3 yrs warranty , however Sony.s warranty card says 1 yr , if not stamped by the dealer.
Should I get the Sony warranty card stamped by Vijay Sales , just in case ? Or not necessary ?

The EW with Sony will be crazy expensive , like atleast 30-40k , I ll still ask though, But it doesn't make sense at that price IMO.
I got a regular wall mount , the Sony technician said the swivel mount doesn't come included and you ll have to buy it separately. Although I need to mention one thing , his recommended height for the TV ( which he says is company recommended) , feels a bit too high for me right now. My old TV was a 50 inch TV so maybe I need some time to get used to the size. I am gonna try it for a few weeks and check , or else I ll have to either shift it down or then place it on the table stand.

@ OLED’ians, what price should I be looking for C2 55’ . I’m about to head out to the stores.
I think you should be able to get it for around 1.15 , or maybe lower than that. Although not sure whether the dussera discounts will still be applicable, then you might have to wait for Diwali.

I was getting this price several months ago during a Non sale period , so I'm guessing 1.25 might be on the higher side. Unless there's a NCE offer for 24 months , then it might be worth it at this price.

Awesome!!
Is it No Cost EMI ??
Yup , it's a No cost EMI. There was a similar scheme with Bajaj Finance also ,
That was Rs.6500/- x 30 months
Rs.84150/- Down-payment
But cashback was only Rs.7500/- and that too in a wallet which you will have to use on bill payments and other stuff.
Landed cost for that was about 271000/-.
Today is the last day for the IDFc cashback scheme though. For any tv above 1.5 Lakh it's Rs.22500/-. Will probably come back during Diwali again I'm guessing.
48 minutes ago, KunjanPSD said:Option to preclose the EMI?
If yes, then after you receive the cashback, give the IDFC guys a ring.
Check if they quote any foreclosure charges, if you are lucky, you might have a few bucks.
Ya as soon as the cashback is credited in my account I ll call them and check.

Finally pulled the plug on an OLED tv. Bought the Sony A95k 65 inch from Vijay Sales.
Got the following deal ,
IDFC paper Finance
Rs.12319/- x 13 emi.s = 160147/-
Rs. 115200/- Down-payment.
Cashback of Rs.22000/- ( after 4 months)
Total cost to me : Rs. 253000/-
This was the best I could negotiate , I read that some people may have gotten it cheaper , but I couldn't. My negotiation skills probably aren't the best but feel like this is a decent price. They were also selling an extended warranty of 27k for an additional 2 yrs. ( Standard warranty included is 3 yrs ) , this was through Onsitego. They say that I have to take it within 1 month of purchase , but I doubt I'm gonna take it. Anyone have any thoughts on the extended warranty and whether I should be taking it ?

Guys , the Sony A95k QD-OLED 65 inch , is on sale for 313000/- on most platforms. On Amazon there.s an offer for no cost EMI for 24 months for some credit cards, which works out to about 13k a month for 24 months. Sounds like quite a good deal right ?
Will Vijay Sales and Croma and all give any further discounts? I've heard that on Sony Products the company doesn't allow them to discount a product more than what they themselves have stipulated, not sure if that's true or not

I am not a registered financial advisor so please don't take my views as investment advice.
I mentioned Pharma + Healthcare because that is my area of competence and I see it as a defensive sector as well.
Recession might come, inflation might go up, consumption might go down but I don't think this is valid for healthcare. People will still go to hospitals, people will still buy medicines. But beware, pharma and healthcare is a huge space and filled with duds.
I personally am investing in bits and pieces and have marked levels at I expect the index bottoms to be made which might correlate with bottoms for individual stocks as well. That's where I will add lumpsum. If those levels are never hit, even then I expect sideways market for atleast next 2+ quarters and hence I will have time to build my position.
But that's my risk appetite, I have my emergency funds set aside and I am not putting all of my savings in. For you, it will differ.
I have seen enough data to build conviction that even if I get 0/-ve returns over next 2 years (a real possibility), over long term, the position will outperform. But then again, I have appetite to see deep red in my PF.
If that's not what you can do and you want to sleep calmly at night. I would recommend doing SIP in indices and MFs like Nifty, ITBees, PPFAS etc, don't go for individual companies. I myself have been wrong many times.
Just set up a weekly/monthly tenure and invest the rest in liquids funds/FDs. Equity = (100 - Age)% generally works well.
As for EURO or even pound (52wk low vs USD), it doesn't really matter. Money is leaving for USD. EU and UK are in shambles. DXY is breaking every resistance.
It's just that Rupee is performing relatively better against USD and hence against EURO/Pound. Not sure if there is to go gain anything over here.
Thank you , I really appreciate you taking the time to give such a long detailed response.

Possibility of pre-2016, 8-8.5% FD rates looks high.
What are your suggestions for investors from now on ? Keep investing in bits and pieces during dips , in good companies in the sectors you mentioned above ? Or in Index funds like Niftybees ?
Also keen to know your thoughts on the Euro vs the Rupee.

Guys , the Xbox series X is still on sale on Amazon , I'm quite surprised , does nobody want an Xbox anymore or do they have a lot of stock ? What's the scene ?
Just checked , it's on sale on Flipkart too.

Xbox series X is on sale on Amazon, 48k if you have an SBI CC and use the 3 month 0% EMI option.

Guys , I was just randomly reading reviews of the Sony A95k QD - OLED tv and I came across this review
https://www.pcmag.com/reviews/sony-bravia-xr-65-inch-class-a95k-oled-tv
This is the part that kinda surprised me ,
" THE BOTTOM LINE
The Sony A95K is a powerful OLED TV with very wide colors, strong contrast, and excellent features, though its quantum dot layer prevents it from getting as dark as an OLED should. "
Is this true ? I was under the impression that this TV is the Be all and End all of Tv's.

Spoke to the people in Devi International. Offering C2 55 for 1.23 lakhs and 65 inch for 1.85 lakhs. And there are some offers with warranty. I think he said they are offering 3 years on the TV. Anything I should keep in mind about warranty and extended warranty? @Assassins Creed
These are really good prices, can you ask Devi International to open a store in Pune ?
Some LG store in Pune quoted 1.45 for the 55 in and 2.10 for 65 in , without cashback. And he.s like , please don't share these prices with anyone , as if it's like a groundbreaking discount or something. Smh.

Dude! I respectfully disagree... Partey was all over the place yesterday. Soooo many errors, especially in the first half. Was getting super-annoyed at him. Won't be surprised if he doesn't start against Leicester next week.
Odegaard was miles better... I agree that he might need time to prove himself as a captain, but the value he brings to the side is immense. His vision/passes are top-notch! Pretty sure he will be a sure-shot starter throughout the season.
I'm not so sure , hope I'm wrong though. Also hope that they don't have to play Zinchenko at LB for too many games , his passing is great but he.s a defensive liability for sure. He.s too slow. He should be paired with Partey in the middle , best combo IMO.
-
The first half was really good but the second half not as much , I don't think Odegaard should have been made captain , he.s not good enough to be a guaranteed starter IMO. Last night I got so annoyed with him , in some defensive positions when they won the ball back , he would play a stupid pass to a teammate in tight sotuations that put unnecessary pressure on them. I guess maybe Partey could have been made captain , he s the true Undroppable from this side.

The pricing on their website shows a discounted price of Rs.351490/-. Not that that's a very good price either , lol, but I guess including taxes and all its probably the same as what it would be priced abroad. *Not including the US of course where all electronics are wayyy cheaper than here.

Looking for a 65 inch TV for my new home - mostly for watching sports, gaming on PS5 and youtube/netflix. Will be getting it in the upcoming prime day sale in the UK.
Shortlisted the below options (Take 1£ = 100rs roughly for reference)
Should I go with IVG's famous choice - LG C1?
1) LG C1 - it is around 1399£ and comes with 1 year warranty (C2 is way expensive - 2400£ and G1 is 2100£ so I guess no point?)
2) Sony A80J - 1600£ with 5 year panel warranty including burn-in
3) Samsung Q95B - The fancy QD OLED - 2600£ Out of Budget - but can get 55 inch for 1650£ - but size would be too much of a compromise?
4) Samsung Q95A - 1299£ + Q600A soundbar for additional 70£ only
My vote would go to the Sony A80J , mostly coz of the 5 year panel warranty. If you get the C1 with a similar warranty , then just get whichever one is cheaper. I think John Lewis gives extended warranty with burn in included. Might wanna check that too.

Just started playing this game 3 days ago and I'm hooked, graphics look amazing , gameplay is super smooth and the dualsense implementation is just amazing.
For sound I'm currently using a sound bar but I'm considering getting the Sony Pulse 3d Headphones just for the 3d sound effects , currently enabled the speaker on the dualsense and it feels really immersive. Has anyone tried 3d headphones while playing the game ?
