I personally think serious gaming won't be possible on cloud.

    Maybe it'll appeal to casuals.

Man, I was very disappointed that Stadia failed. During the testing phase..that project stream...it was simply amazing.

I was playing on my now 9 years old macbook with a PS4 controller, with graphics at least looking better than a PS4.

It actually felt like black magic tbh, seeing it work. Too bad, it dint scale up :(  Hoping for a service like this to succeed in future...no matter from whichever company.

  2. When I played it, had quite a few games in backlog and not enuf time for gaming these days...so by the time I reached chapter 2, it felt like the progression is very slow, but at the same time dint want to rush thru it.

Guess, if I would have enuf time in hand and less stress, would have enjoyed much more...just walking in that beautiful and amazing world, taking my own sweet time. Hoping to start this again one day.

For me the artbook. Love keeping them.

Same here man. Some of them has lots of info on how the game development progressed and the final product changed...cut artwork, levels etc and lots of "what-it-would-have-been" stories...just love reading them :)

Though the ones that come with CEs these days are mostly tiny samplers and are meh usually.

  4. Personal top 10 I am looking forward to. In this order:

1 Half Life Alyx: By a long margin. Might not happen this year though, as will wait to see if it comes to PSVR2.
     2 GOW: R
3 Captain Toad: The switch game I am most excited to play. :fear1:
     4 Dead Space
     5 Ring fit adventures
     6 It takes two
     7 Final Fantasy 7
     8 GoT
     9 Baldo
    10 RE:Village

These two might shoot up to the top 5, if:
PSVR2 version of RE8 is announced.
Some gameplay/concrete details revealed for Hogwarts Legacy.

Was able to finish almost 50% of the backlog because of pandemic and did much better when it comes to buying new games this year.

For the last few days tried quite a few games but nothing is clicking. Cant have too much of anything I guess, time to take a break from gaming.

As my PS4 is taking forever to get repaired, dont think will be able to finish anything else this year. For the first time in over a decade the backlog is under 10

    Oxenfree
    Shadow Of The Colossus
    Super Hot VR
    Xing
    Alien Isolation

    Prey
    Witness - Gave up :(
    Watch Dogs 2
Sekiro - Will play on PS5
    Bloodborne
    MGS V
    Swapper
    Tearaway Unfolded

    Astro Bot(Challenge missions)
Blood & Truth - Will play on PS5
    RE 2
    Judgement
    Yakuza 4
Yakuza 5 - Was playing this when PS4 died :(
    Yakuza 6
Death Stranding - Will play on PS5
    P5R

    Statik
    Shadow of the Tomb Raider
    Evil within 2

Bloodborne was mind blowing. SOTR, Statik and Evil Within 2 were other great games played this year.

I've experienced VR only at fests. Don't own VR systems yet, but I've tried it (Far too expensive for me to purchase). From what I've experienced, It's great. Mind-blowing even. But IMO it's just not complete yet. At this point, it cannot replace conventional gaming, nor does it add to conventional gaming (Like 3d or RTX does) IMO. It's fun, but I will not be ready to play for hours on end like I can do for conventional gaming. The VR I'm thinking, it will replace conventional gaming altogether.

Running one post behind you :P

Personally I never understood this mindset that why VR has to replace conventional gaming, why cant it co-exist? Pricing, specially in India is messed up...obviously no one is going to spend 20-25k + extra for move controllers to play games which are just few hrs long or more or less like demos.

But man playing RE7 in VR was one of the most memorable gaming experience I ever had.

True VR is still very, very far away. We are still playing around with nauseating images too close to our eyes (Many times with sub-par resolutions on top). Once true VR actually arrives - believe me, it will be such a huge jump, it will make all of these "eras" seem small time. Like the difference between slingshot and modern jet fighter warfare. By true VR, I mean something like .hack or Sword Art Online. It will literally create entire worlds that will engage all of our senses at the same time, just like Real Life does.

Sorry, this post came in between ?

Sub par resolution is mostly with sony's headset which is a cheap solution tbh.

Games like Astro Bot, RE7, Blood & Truth... looked amazing...and werent nauseating too. Wipeout is mind blowing, but I feel like puking within 10 mins :(

But it needs massive leaps forward. First it needs to solve the nausea issue completely. Then get players acclimatized. Solve the resolution issues. When VR reaches the point of Sword Art Online or .hack, then it will definitely be the pinnacle of gaming.

Just curious to know which all VR games you have played?

Other than the high cost(which happens with any new tech whatever be the field), I think marketing is one of the biggest hurdles for VR. No trailer/stream can even remotely let the user know how it will feel once you are "inside". After decades of "conventional" gaming, I was completely blown away by playing a VR game. Really looking forward to see where this(dead, as per IVG) technology goes maybe a decade from now.
