Gurugyani
I too have a similar query...... Is it possible to backup specific items n not the whole of PS3's HDD?? I know that it does the complete backup, but then will it restore a partially, only what we want or the whole thing again. I am thinking of trying a backup and then changing the HDD and restore again to check the whole thing. Just want to know if someone has done it already ? Gurugyani
U cant make backup of your games i guess we can, otherwise what else do we have to back up on PS3 ??? if it doesnt then - 1. its useless 2. buying the games on psn will be a one time investment and not really for long term
Death Stryke
^U can backup. Check your settings. And you cannot do selective backup though. All your movies/songs/pictures/demos/PSN games/saves get backed up.

U can backup on ur friend's console. also, changing HDD is not a daily routine. atleast you can download the game again.

They already have that check in place and a very good one at that. they have locked the games to the console it has been downloaded to. these guys are smart, can come up with anything to check that. atleast they should allow complete ownership to the guy who have purchased it and want to keep it. Well thats my opinion and thought anyways in couple of days i am planning to try this whole thing out. hope i am successful

Amit Singh
It is possible to make backup your PSN games to PC.. You have to Use PS3.ProxyServer.GUI to get a link form ur PS3 to download a PSN game or demo. It is in the .PKG format. After downloading that it in your PC you can divert the link to ur saved file. Whenever you need to install your game form PC you have to use your downloaded item list form PSN download content. It'll save you time to re-download same game or content. There is one more benefit to download to PC , You can pause your download as much as you want and it'll not gonna give you any error during install. I used that application to download Uncharted 2 Multilayer Beta which is 1.25 GB in size. And i was facing install error when i paused my download in PS3. That application works like a charm. Here is link for complete process. http://altivec.blogspot.com/2008/11/featur...ames-patch.html
