Has anybody played any old PS2 games by Sandlot Games? What do you think of them?

Tetsujin-28

Chikyuu Boueigun - Earth Defense Force

This was a series of 3 games, each of which was quite awesome for its time.

Robot Alchemic Drive - R.A.D.

My favorite of them. I first played it years ago, and recently had a chance to play it again.

It's just so f***ing awesome! I absolutely loved the whole concept, and the style of gameplay.

You really feel like you're watching 15-storey giant robots fighting an epic battle!

It feels this way because you're not riding inside the robot directly, but are instead just a little guy controlling yourbig bot from nearby. It's an extraordinary style that is unlike any other mech game.

I'd really hope that an updated sequel gets made, using newer-generation console graphics.

RAD was tight stuff. If you got past the intimidating control scheme, you were in the f**king zone with this sh*t. Of course, there was a simplified control-scheme available as well, but where was the fun in meddling with that?

Those awful character hair-dos though, my gawd. Talk about failed 80s animu-references.

The Japanese version, under the title of "Gigantic Drive" had the better-looking cover

I really wish this game had spawned some sequels, or even some imitation rip-offs, since its gameplay and whole visual style was so great.

And thanks for that link to Dynamic Slash, btw. It looks nice, and if it's by Sandlot Games, then I think it'll be good.
