Is it too late to count in one more?? :D

I had a question about the DS3 controller:

Is the Japanese / Asian version of the DualShock 3 controller any different from the US version? I'm going to get a US 60 gig console that doesn't come with DS3, and I'm considering ordering the DS3 controller off Play-Asia. That won't have the O and X swapped, will it?

If the O/X thing is swapped, then I'll wait till a US version of the DS3 comes out...

The controller layout is exactly the same, its jap games that have O as the default selection button.

This is the case with the PS2. Most jap imports have O/X swapped on my US PS2 (R.I.P.).

But we have a JAP PS3 in the office (Tech2) and ALL games we play on it have O/X swapped even though the controller layout is the same as the standard old PS2 controller.

It seems the games decide the O/X deal in the PS2, but in the PS3, that is handled by the system firmware. If this is the case, then it's fine to get a JAP DS3, because as long as your PS3 firmware interprets X as X and O as O, the controller will work fine, cuz it just sends X and O to the system...

So are you ordering one for me or not !!
