MarketTantrik
it's piracy MT, apparently you need your own PS2 bios otherwise violation I am not sure if having a copy of the PS2's bios is piracy. What if you own a PS2 console?

I mean asking in the net for bios is like piracy. But you can dump your bios from your own PS2 into pcsx2.

Xtrovert
They had a hardware support to Play PS2 movies in the 60 GB PAL model, then they had a Software Eumtaion support in later Version , if this news is true then i think they might put the Emulation support back in Firmware 3.0 ,hoping they do
Noctis
Sony ripped its customer off by removing B/C in post launch model PS3s. That doesn't permit us to violate their terms of use. The move made sense since the PS2 was still selling and adding BC might have reduced it. But now thats its coming to the end of its life cycle they might add it back to the new PS3s. KnackChap
Actually sony removing BC had nothing to do with the sales of ps2 or them rewarding early adapters, if you believe that then god save the queen . removing the EE and GS helped them reduce the cost of each unit by 30$ so if they even sold 10 mill of those units, they saved a good 300m$ on BC alone. imalreadyfor
Give a feature the console should have always had and retained. Now introduce it with a BRAND NEW SHINY calorie conscious PS3. WTF is SOny doing this generation? Alas, I do still want it. Sigh

Why should a customer care about Sony's Terms of Use when they dont give a fig about their "Terms of Purchase"? What about the promised functionality that supposedly justified the high price? If a company can give it up the rear without consent, they should be prepared to take it as well.
KnackChap
true but this cannot be the same reason for dropping software emulators??? even when they did did software emu (pal launch ps3's), they always had he GS chip inside the ps3. the newer models dont have the GS chip, so no BC. but it might return, soon!? They didn't mention PS2 B/C among the list of features of newer models and the buyers were well aware of what they were getting. Sony was never obliged of adding b/c, not to mention everyone were screaming for a price cut.
