Death Stryke
Hmm....what about installing Windows XP on it ? If that can be done, he'll be ecstatic with the looks of the Macbook He was a little skeptical with the looks of the Dell Studio as he was comparing it with the HP one , which looks magnificent by the way Yes you can. You can make it run parallel to Mac's OSX or you can have a dual boot as well. People are running Win 7 beautifully as a dual boot on macs now. And yes, HP looks wayyy better. I dunno, for me the looks of something I buy, even if its the least important thing, matter a lot @kamikaze ( ) Some points:1. HP's build quality is better than Dell. See if you can find a similar spec in HP. 2. P8700 is quite a bit of improvement over T6500. Not just in terms of horsepower but also in running cool, drawing less power.. 3. Can't say much about gfx card.. 4. If you must save money, save it on HDD (and possibly RAM) as these can be added later easily yourself when needed with aftermarket components. Spend most on proc/gfx. 5. I don't think any of current gen AMD proc's can compete with Intel in terms of horsepower as well as horsepower to power consumption ratio. +100 to what he said. Shantz
Really ? I thought Dell was the best. My cousin was going for an HP coz he could get it instantly, aka pay up the price and take home the laptop. It's coz of me he's ready to even think about paying up online and waiting 15 days to get the laptop BTW, these days even Dell ones can be bought in shops and for slightly more discount (by bargaining or u could get something free). A friend bought a model few months ago that comes preconfigured with 2 gig RAM and needed some 2500 bucks for official bump to 4 gig. He got the full 4 by paying just 1k to the shopkeeper for an extra RAM DIMM. Also got another 500 bucks off the online price and a bag/mouse free. (he got some extra discounts because he was buying 3 laptops..All the above was per laptop)
