Why Every PS3 Owner Needs A 360

Recommended Posts

I had both consoles

But personaly found the ps3 better

It was noisy as hell ...

With disc read errorrs and fear of RROD hanging around the neck all the time

I sold it

And for games halo3 and gears were awesome and others were ok nothing groundbreaking

compared to varied library of ps3

Consisting of shooters ,platformers, racers , RPGs

In the end

Ps3>>X360

Errr...You found PS3 better even it was noisy etc.

I guess you mean 360 by that bolded it. If you keep your console legit, you don't need to worry about RROD, 3 yr warranty, period.

dR_gAm3, Nothing is intentionally designed to break, its just sheer paranoia.

A lot of thought process goes in when someone decides to build a device/system of this magnitude. The people who build these systems aren't home-schooled, fat-bellied couch-potatoes.

Still so many things can go wrong, design errors, manufacturing defects, minor accidental changes in system specs leading to something huge or something which you or me can't even think off.

I really laugh when I read something stupid like "MS wanted to save 4.99$ on that chip so they decided to design it by themselves". How can one even conclude that a certain failure is due to a certain inept decision by few wiseguys at MS?

Think logically, satellites fail too, but that doesn't mean you stop using cable TV.

hey man am not sayin that ms intenionally designed the xbox to fail

But one can't deny that there is some inherent problem with basic design that

After almost 4 years of launch ms can't come to terms wid the xbox problems

dR_gAm3, no, you said it in the same way and I tried to give you the reasoning. :P

OK, let's assume that MS managed to pinpoint where the problem is, but they aren't able to fix it because it might require heavy architectural changes which aren't so easy and may lead to some other issues. Even if they fix it, they will still have millions of sold xboxes, prone to those issues, to deal with. So they just decided to extend the warranty, not at all bad situation for customers, I would say.

Assuming that they haven't got to the core of the problem yet, they just did it(extended the warranty) to keep everyone happy, a safeplay.

Have you even considered the hassles you might face if your PS3 YLODs just a month after the 1 yr warranty expires? :(
