KnackChap
Speaking to VideoGamer.com at the recent Shine Week in London - an event organised by the Department for Children Schools and Families to celebrate the talents of young people - EA UK boss Keith Ramsdale refused to be drawn on recent comments made by Activision CEO Bobby Kotick regarding the need for a PS3 price cut. "Activision are free to make whatever comment they choose to make on it," said Ramsdale. Last month Kotick told The Times if a PS3 price cut does not come the publisher "might have to stop supporting Sony”. EA, however, does not share Kotick's opinion. "As it stands, the installed base of 360, PS3 and Wii, just talk about the home consoles, is a significant base. We’re interested in the projection parts, as to where we put our development, and as it stands today they’re all three very viable platforms," said Ramsdale. Commenting on the need for a PS3 price cut, Ramsdale said that ultimately it is Sony's decision to make. "It’s interesting for a publisher and a developer for the installed base of any format to grow as quickly as it can, but it’s got to be a sustained business," he said. "So, is it in our interest that the installed base of hardware increases? Yeah, of course it is. Sony are the ones that have to manage their own business... it has to be Sony’s decision." http://www.videogamer.com/news/ea_ps3_is_a...platform_2.html
