Update: Got it repaired and it looks to be working fine so far *touches wood*

cost me 5k and the guy gave me 2 months warranty, in case the same problem occurs again.

hey KC i think u should do the fan test (even though it is not recommended)

coz as it is ur ps3 is dead............ atleast u'll get ur disc that's stuck inside.............

Anyways to do the fan test, the switch at the back of ur ps3 should be 'off' (i.e. there should be no light on the system front).

Then keep ur finger on the eject button (while it is 'off') and then switch it back to 'on'

Then the green light on the front should start and u will be able to hear the fan running very loudly and the disc should come out.............

I have done this three different times to get the disc out (while my ps3 had got the YLoD at three times)

BTW mine was a 40 gig PAL model............. i don't know abt the 60 gig NTSC though........... but the fan test works on probably all models............

I don't think it's such a bad idea.............. I think u should try it and get the disc out........... BTW it's totally ur wish.............

Edit: just saw tht u got ur ps3 repaired........... Congratzzzzzzzzzzzz.................

BTW where did u get it repaired from???????????
