Borg
Two questions - 1. Is the 160 GB PS3 available in India?. Haven't seen it around. Also what is the price? 2. Since the only difference between the 80 GB & the 160 GB SKUs is the HDD, isn't it better to simply buy 80 GB version (or even a 40GB version) pop in a cheap 2.5 inch 250 GB SATA HDD (costs less than 3k) ? Does changing the HDD by myself void the warranty?.

playstationdude
OT:how do you load the ps3 os on a new HDD? Also can i use an external hdd to boot the ps3?
dullu
^ Each time u insert a new hdd into the PS3, it asks u to format it, and loads the OS itself. In case u have data there, take a backup, and then u can restore the date once your new hdd is installed. I don't think you can boot the PS3 off an external hdd. I think i read it some where that we can boot off the PS3 from External HDD via some custom connectors or something .. will check and report back
