Now i am from delhi but working here in Bangalore which gives me the 'luxury' to source a Wii either from Delhi or Bangalore .. Which place do u suggest i get a Wii from .. * both of them sell consoles that are given without warranty so is it safe to buy them? *Most of the games released online on pvt trackers/Scene are PAL but i guess the NTSC one is available in india? KeezNah Posted July 24, 2009 Report Share Posted July 24, 2009 I believe most places here in Delhi will try to sell you the Korean version, for about Rs. 15k if I remember correctly. Don't have much info on the region restrictions involved with that, but if you want, you can easily soft-mod your via the Twilight Princess exploit and remove region restrictions altogether. Otherwise, most Wii games which are actually and officially distributed by Milestone Interactive are NTSC-U (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Edit: You can find their official catalogue here. My only concern is reagrding the warranty .. Since its not there is it safe to buy from there? Any reputed dealers that i should head to within pallika? AFAIK on Ebay Wii is being sold for 13.5K ... Is there anyway to play them? Ebay Wii & Korean Wiis come with fake Wii sports, fake adaptors.....They are soft modded- Online play can be a problem at a later stage. sunny1974 Posted July 31, 2009 Report Share Posted July 31, 2009 guys i got a wii from dubai with a game free( useless for me bully) for 16.5k. it was pal. and i was under the wrong impression that india had pal also. but when i got here i discovered that india has only ntsc officially. for 22k approx(available with reliance.) all official games or even all original games in india are ntsc or us exported. i went to palika and saw that a softmodded wii was available for 11k easily.( probably the japanese or korean one). i thought i had made a mistake to buy from dubai duty free. coz i paid almost 6 k extra and i cant play any games from here. so i modded it ..myself following instructions online.now i can play the iso versions available from palika for 100 bucks. easily. as far as online playing goes i tried it and keep getting a disconected from ur opponent every time. this maybe sumthing to do with my port setting in my modem. still havnt worked that out. i think it makes sense to buy from palika for 10.5 k or sumthing as its already modded (soft mod) so the risk is less and it plays everything region free.. modding it at home isnt easy and everyone might not get it right. as far as the warrenty goes u wont get it anywhere. im sure they make good ones for korea also. as far as the adaptor goes. i think its original ..(besides even if its a good quality fake it shd work good.) so just pay 10.5 k and enjoy all the games. its just not the cost of the console here but the games which will pinch u afterwards. after all we live n india and the cost of most electronic things are almost 2 times that abroad. and lol as it is we dont earn as much here. the official games are available for 1500 rs onwards and the good ones are easily 2.5k etc. and that to only ntsc. even if u do get pal games they will probably be just left from a long time. im looking for a motion plus here in india. anyone seen it or got it from here? how much? thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

sunny1974 Posted August 1, 2009 Report Share Posted August 1, 2009 Modding discussions are permitted but you shouldn't be glorifying playing/buying pirated games on the forum. sorry i didnt know much about that was my 1st post here. i wasnt actually glorifying it. just pointing the facts. besides one can also play legit games from any region without worrying about which region wii(or even pal or ntsc) they have as the grey mkt modded wii are not india specific. as far as buying the unmodded game being cheaper. its not the case now because nowadays all moddings are done thru software so doesnt cost anything unlike the previous modding which were done by adding a hardware chip. they dont sell without modding in palika because it doesnt make sense.as region specific games cant be played on the unmodded wii u get. the motion sensor plus i was asking about is available for 3k in palika and for 4.5k with wii resort. which is around 2 times the price given at amazon. sunny1974 Posted August 3, 2009 Report Share Posted August 3, 2009 generally those palika shops cant be trusted .i bought a ds3 and it didnt work aftera month.they will be like warranty and all is there for evrythin and when u take it back to them they are like.oh there isa problem then we may have to charge u some amount for it.it happened with me at shop no 2 palika bazaar you are right.. absolutly. they are like girgits. they promise lots in the begining but later on charge for repair. but then that is the risk u have to take to save money. and that saved money is the insurance for repairs. the difference in wii is exactly double so u save 11k. and even if u have to spend a little sumtimes then also ur safe. so cross ur fingers and buy it. mostly things u are buying cannot have fakes. so its just a matter of chance sumthing will fail. its like wii cant be fake nor can any part be fake. apart from the accesories. blitzkreiig Posted August 14, 2009 Report Share Posted August 14, 2009 i went to pallika today at shop no 2 the guy says the wii that too a korean one will cost me 11.5k and has been modded and he says u can play any ntsc u/c on it easily .and he says component cable will cost me 650 rs Price for Korean Wii is 11.5k only......Btw component cable's for 400(got it from shop no. 2 only)- he's ripping you.
