hey BM,

oh boy...if it's the same prob i faced a while back you'll be in for a shock.

I had the same prob back in june i think.

I was playing RB 6 vegas the previous night, and everything was working fine. then the next day, when i switched on the console, NO picture but i can hear the sound. I tried removing the cables, tried other games, NOTHING changed. I was very disappointed and in the end i called ms support and the first thing they asked was whether my conole has RROD'd :D , i told them it hasn't and they just said it'll be replaced within 48 hrs. I got the replacement the very next day :P

yippee.............its started workin again out of nowhere!!

i plugged into different output and plugged it bak again into the same output......its now workin on every output!!

well its the first phase for rrod syndrome.its a classic problem and i m sure you will have to face it again.i got the same problem in my 360 and had to get it replaced. it was also not covered in warranty as i bought it from philadelphia. i had to pay microsoft(redington) 8600 rs to get it replaced(shipping+repair charges). i did some research on this problem and the most likely thing is that your digital to analog video decoder chip solder joints have gone weak. you can try heat reflow techniques or classic hot towel technique which is very common on net.try searching for hot air gun method for bga and you will find it .but that is alsp not permanent solution.only permanent solution in my opinion is to get it replaced my microsoft. and if you are lucky its just the connectors at back of your cable has gone basd or may its just connectors at the back of tv.lets see. here is a technical solution to your problem: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=617078 and http://www.xboxhacker.net/index.php?topic=7468.0 and http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=621629
