Keyofx
EA Signs Fedor Emelianenko For EA Sports MMA EA Sports and Tiburon have signed one more fighter for its upcoming mixed martial arts title, adding Russian heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko to the list of brawlers mixing it up in EA Sports MMA. Emelianenko will be joined by Dutch-American Gegard Mousasi and Brazilian Renato Sobral, three fighters who join "a long list of fighters" that will make appearances in EA Sports MMA, the company announced today. All three will be throwing fists at an upcoming Strikeforce fight, with EA Sports sponsoring Mousasi and Sobral. Interestingly, the LA Times is reporting today that Emelianenko is close to signing a deal with the UFC. You may recall that UFC president Dana White threatened fighters who signed with EA Sports that they won't be welcome to fight in the UFC. So this could get a little nasty. Emelianenko is considered by MMA enthusiasts to be the best mixed martial arts fighter currently beating the crap out of people. That means this is a good get for EA. The publisher says it plans to launch a new version of its mixed martial arts game every other year. I know which MMA game I'm buying next year. And I bet EA includes a proper ring rather than just the UFC hick-american cage. A ring commands so much more respect. I miss Pride and Affliction. Keyofx
Ahem. That must explain why I just ordered UFC from Game yesterday :\ It isn't about mainstream you nincompoop. Pride and Affliction were both mainstream. We got Pride on Star Sports for crying out loud (NOT the UFC)
