nitmeh3 Posted August 1, 2009 Report Share Posted August 1, 2009 Recently me and my cousin purchased The BIGS 2 (baseball game) for xbox360 and the ps3 respectively. The game is awesome. But one thing that i noted was that , the graphics ( colors and effects ) were clearly much better on the 360 than on the ps3 which seems to be a better machine ( on paper ). Although i own a 360 but i love ps3 as well. And i was actually thinking of buying PS3 until this happened. The graphics looked awful. I searched on the internet then. Saw a review on gamespot that NFSMW and Ghostbusters ,etc etc etc. were looking better on the xbox. Why such difference ? The ps3 even has a bluray drive so it should have better graphics as the textures can have bigger size and higher quality than xbox which runs DL DVDs. Considering this i have now dropped the idea of buying the beast ps3. Also i've heard that sony is cutting down its price to 299 USD by introducing ps3 slim. What should i do guys ? Some PS3 games like Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid 4, Little Big Planet, have some of the best graphics ever seen. On multi platform games, the PS3 does tend to suffer, although a few of them like Prototype and Burnout Paradise are slightly better than their Xbox 360 counterparts. Bulovski Posted August 1, 2009 Report Share Posted August 1, 2009 the graphics thing is dependent on a lot of factors and some of them don't have anything to do with the ps3. developing multiplatform games means the dev will always be more proficient on one platform than the other. the PC hands down beats both PS3 and X360 in this department. Games exclusive to the PS3 have brilliant graphics. So don't bother yourself about the graphics. Just get the system when the price drops. Lag is dependent on ping and your connection speed. You need a good upload speed which most ISPs do not provide. And ping is dependent on the distance between you and the host of the game - if you are playing with players in your local area not much of a hassle. But when i played Uncharted on my cousin's ps3 , i was like WOW. Also it has got a BlueRay player and built in hdd and free online gaming. After the price drop its gonna be a must have for all gamers. And even a few top XBL whores are planning to buy it ( talked to them via XBL only ).
