KnackChap
On 8th Oct 2009, Sega will be releasing the budget priced Phantasy Star Portable. It will come with a Video UMD, containing a 3 episode story feature which covers the PSU story called Phantasy Star Universe Chronicle. Said Video UMD will also include the opening cinematic for Phantasy Star Portable 2, due to be released this Winter. The Video UMD has a runtime of 63mins in total. source

KeezNah
Phantasy Star Portable is actually the closest we've had to a good "PSO-style" game (I use that term loosely). Not to mention that a lot was changed to accommodate the handheld platform: more character slots, increased loot drops, cheaper items, removal of item synthesis and player shops, etc. It's a much easier game to get into than the dreadful beast that is Universe, and I'm hearing Phantasy Star Ø didn't catch on as well as Sega or fans hoped (I'll still give the English version a chance though). Either way, I'm sold. Just pack in online in there already, for f**k's sake.
Shadoken
i thought the psp version was just a port of psu on the ps2 did they improve the gameplay in anyway?....but srsly how hard is it for sega to port a dreamcast game...there are more ppl on PSO private server than on official PSU ps2/pc servers .... Edit: i've played ps0 online it feels alot like pso...but the game just lacks alot in content and just playing a game like that on the ds is just kinda annoying..psp would have been a better choice for ps0
