Hello friends,

I haven't managed to get a 360 for myself till date (Poor Me). Now i am looking for one. As you all know X360 core model is available around 12000/- now.

This is the least expensive model. I know it is a very old model (may be of 2006 batch). If i manage to get one, will i get full 3 yrs RROD warranty from Microsoft???

Also i want to know whether this model being of a old revision is very likely to get RRODed.

You'll get the full 3 year warranty - don't worry about that. The old ones are more likely to get the RROD as compared to the new Jasper / Falcon chipsets. But since you can replace the 360 as many times for RROD as you want in the 3 years, and there is no difference in gameplay, get the old one. You can pick up a cheap used HDD as well over here and you're all set.

Thanks man :(

One more thing i will have to connect 360 with My Dell S1909W LCD. It has DVI with HDCP capability so it will take HDMI input from consoles. But, core models don't have HDMI port. So i think i have to use VGA cable for that. Can you tell me will there be any problem in Image quality while using VGA cable??? In some websites i've heard that VGA cable is not compatible to all games and may lead to aliasing effect with some 360 titles.

Yeah and make sure you get a pal console with bill for claiming warranty from Microsoft India.

The console box should have an import sticker by the name of Redington India.

VGA cables work fine and i have been using one for more than 2 years now. Played over a 100 games no problems.

Hope this helps
