I have a Microtec double battery UPS and only my PC an 360 connected and both never run simultaneously.....it's battery dead!

Nope not dead buy yeah it is getting close to dead , batteries have a life cycle as well , so the backup time reducing gradually , change your batteries , both should run simultaneously after that during power cut.

I run a PS3 , 22' Dell LCD Monitor as well as a High End Gaming PC with 650W PSU on a 800VA Double Battery Microtek UPS , I can run all three simultaneously for atleast 5-10 mins. during power cut.Luckily in this part of Delhi power cuts are pretty rare.

Hey I also have the microtek 800 va ...Of late it has started continously. I guess the battery has gone bust. Any idea how to change the battery and which battery is compatible ??? My ups is out of warranty and when I called up Microtek A.S.S they told that they would charge 200 bucks for looking at it and if there is a problem with the battery , a new one is gonna cost 1500 bucks (which I think is very expensive) .

Yup even I called up Microtek last year both batteries cost me 1500 , they take the old batteries otherwise the battery change would cost 1800-2000.

The earlier batteries lasted me pretty long from 2005-2009 , generally what the Microtek engineer said was the batteries last max 2yrs.

that's not good.....mine has lasted less than a year now!

damn.....But the good thing is these batteries are within warranty! So I'll have to replace them shortly!

And thanks joy for the reply....atleast I now know that my batteries aren't completely dead!

My UPS jus acting like a sub-standard stabilized now! :threatenlumber:

EDIT: I used to have backup of near 30 mins before (on my entry level gaming PC) and now nothing.....If i charge it for several hours no backup......but if I don't connect it to power and leave it jus like that without recharging, I do get backup of around 20 seconds.....dunno what's that all about!

The Battery health relies mostly on the use , means the more power cut in your area more the battery gets used.

As I said I'm lucky for the last 2-3 years that powercut in Delhi (Rohini) in significantly less compared to 5 yrs ago. :P

Even I was surprised to hear that Battery last only max 2 yrs on approx whereas my UPS's batteries lasted almost 4 yrs. :samui:
