Nope. Djokovic becomes No 1, Fed No 2 and Nadal No 3

I heard Vijay and Wilkins saying that since nole would have lost in semis to Fed, Fed would have overtaken both in that scenario... No point now as rafa is just running along...

Djokovic has the easiest way of becoming no 1. Rafa will have to win Wimby to retain his ranking. Anything else and Novak is the new no 1.

even if nole loses to fed in semis and rafa reaches final but loses...?! i think rafa would retain no. 1

Nadal is at 12070 pts. He remains at 12070 if he wins. If he loses in finals, then his points become 11270.

Nole is at 12005. Even if he loses in quarterfinals. his points become 11645. So as u can see, whatever Novak's result from now, if Rafa doesnt win Wimby, he loses no 1.

As for Federer, if Rafa loses in semis or quarters, and Federer wins Wimby, Federer becomes No 2 and Rafa no 3.

Nadal - 12070

Djokovic - 12005

Federer - 9230

IF Nadal had lost in the 4th round ...

nadal - 12070 - 2000 + 180 = 10250

Assuming Federer wins Wimbledon ..

Federer = 9230 + 2000 - 360 = 10870

Had Djokovic lost in the 4th round ...

Djokovic = 12005 - 720 + 180 = 11465

In short, there was no way Federer was taking the No.1 spot this time

Now, If Djokovic reaches the finals .. he is No 1 no matter who wins what ...

Djokovic = 12005 - 720 + 1200 = 12485

If Rafa does not win the finals, he loses at least 800 points, which puts him behind Novak by a long way

So here you go folks .. Rafa has to lift Wimbledon and pray someone takes out Djokovic en route to the finals, else he will be No.2 again.

actaully, Novak can .. Rafa still has lots of points to defend even after the grass court season. If Rafa loses the top spot, he can only hope to regain it next year, unless Novak self destrutcts, which I dont see happening. Novak has put in a lot of work into his fitness, he reeks of confidence and is playing marvelous tennis.

All that remains to be seen is how serious his foot injury is. This aint clay, where his game is miles apart everyone else's. On Grass, Murray, Novak and Roger are stronger than they are on clay so anything short of 100% will mean no silverware for Rafa this year.

Tsonga.. betich*d forehands and serve o_0

:majesty:

btw one thing i have noticed, fedrer is amongst the most sore losers i have seen, people harp about his nice guy image... bollocks, just see when he loses a match, goes all cold and lukewarm congratulation to his opponent. I am not saying its bad to be a sore loser (lord knows i am one) but it does not sit well with the gentleman aura that his worshippers have created. A stark contrast to nadal.. one of the most humble fella on court.
