Djokovic crashes out of AO in the SF vs Sinner. :(

With Djokovic now out, this will be the first Australian Open Men's Singles Final NOT to feature a member of the Big 3 since 2005 when LLeyton Hewitt took on Marat Safin in the AO Men's Singles final.

Just finished watching Nadal vs Djokovic at the Six Kings Slam in Riyadh. Djokovic won 6-2, 7-5 to win the 3rd place match (Alcaraz vs Sinner is the final).

2nd set was fantastic to watch with shades of Nadal's blazing FHs on display. This was Nadal's last singles match in all probability and was a treat to watch him go against Nole who he has faced more than 60 times! IIRC their first match was in 2005... how the years have passed.

Closing in on an end of an era! :majesty:

Nadal's last tournament will be Davis Cup next month.

What a match from Novak! After the first set he absolutely set the court on fire with his outstanding chasing and robust rallying. It was a treat to watch him play today. Too good for Carlito who just isn't good enough on this AO hard court, got his backhand exposed.

I hope Djokovic recovers because he will play Sasha next and if he wins high chances of meeting Sinner man.

Through to the Semi's yet again... to face Sinnerman!

Today's win could very well be his final win on Center Court at the Wimbledon if this year marks his final appearance at the SW19. Defeating Sinner in the SF next will be a humongous task!

Two cracking SF games today. Been watching Tennis since the morning...

Djokovic doing the unthinkable today. At 38 beating Sinner and saving 16/18 BPs... stupendous mental fortitude. True GOAT! :majesty:

Towards the end of the match Novak was playing from the baseline like a man possessed!

Congratulations to Carlito for getting the AO 2026 title and also the Career GS... what a feat at his tender age! Tremendous stuff.

Heartbreak for Novak fans tonight. :( He was so clutch in the first set but after that Alcaraz settled down and from there on out Nole lost all steam. Shot selection and those tricky drop shots by Alcaraz were executed to perfection and they paid off. Don't know when Novak will be in a GS Final again and somehow GS title number 25 suddenly seems like a distant dream for him. Maybe at the Wimby or USO? We shall see. With Sinner and Alcaraz both in their prime it's a daunting task to repeatedly face them at almost 39.
