Ne0
Published by: Electronic Arts Developed by: EA Canada Release Date: October 6, 2009 Genre: Sports (basketball) ------------------ Demo of the game is out on live, and just out of curiosity I downloaded it. And I'm impressed with the game. The game is so fluid. You just have the lakers vs magic game available in the demo, which lasts only till half time. The animations are great, music is spot on and gameplay is tight and addictive. The controls are responsive. Usually I get to hear that 2k games are better in basketball compared to live games, I can’t comment on that as I haven’t played either of them in the previous iterations. But this looks like a winner to me and might end up as my first basketball video game purchase. The only minor nitpick is that dunking is way too easy, and I was able to perform a dunk using almost all the players in my team with just the LT+X button even when it seemed impossible. But as a newbie, it feels good and I’m not complaining. This will do just fine, don’t need a sim
Keyofx
The Live series is beyond hope. I think I gave up on it after '03 or '04 when the ESPN/2K collaboration became a viable option. Ne0, have you tried any of the 2K games?

No, might have tried some baseball games in the past, but not sure if they were from T2 or EA.
HundredProofSam
I'm a little rusty on my b-ball games (last I played was 2K7), but I'm quite enjoying Live 10. I remember the 2K ones being a lot more sim-based than this though. Here, once you hold the slam dunk button, the likes of Shaq and LeBron will run through players and make the slam dunk without picking up or committing a foul, which is pretty strange. Also the free throw system is so lazy. Absolutely no innovation. A simple power meter and thats it. peace
HundredProofSam
No mention of difficulty levels there. And dead thread, so I'll just continue here I'm pretty sure those are canned animations. Not picking up a charging foul could just be an issue they need to iron out in next years game. Check out how the defense works when you move the ball up the court. The man marking is pretty damn impressive. Yes, man marking is impressive, but its a lot less effective when you're the one defending. You don't seem to have as much control as the AI seems to have. As for charging fouls, you seem to commit them on the opposition fairly frequently and concede the and one, but they never return the favour. It's almost like they know you're gonna score, so they just decide to limit it to 2 instead of 3. I'm playing on default difficulty btw. peace
