Ubisoft Honcho Thinks More 2010 Games Will Be Moved Again

There were a ton of games scheduled for this December, then then a big chunk of them moved to early 2010. Ubisoft president Yves Guillemot thinks those games will move again.

Titles like Heavy Rain, Bioshock 2, Red Dead Redemption and Bayonetta were all moved to 2010.

"We now have a situation where there are a lot of good games due for release in the first half of next year, but I think some publishers will move again," Guillemot told website MCV. "The first quarter of 2010 is looking pretty crazy. So I expect some movement from the other players — some of those delayed games will be moved again."

Prediction or warning? Ubisoft's Splinter Cell: Conviction was moved from Holiday 2009 to early 2010. Will it be moved again? Will it, Yves?

Kratos = PS3 only

Sam Fisher = 360 only

They can never compete :panic:

But in an alternate universe of high-tech Greek mythology espionage, it would serve both of them better to team up rather than go head to head. They have more things in common than they'd like to admit

1. Both have a sense of betrayal

2. Both fight alone

3. Both have an issue with authority

In fact Sam even tried the Kratos look going bald in 'Double Agent'. And though we know Kratos likes to keep it old school with blades and magic and all, Sam could really hook him up with some gadgets and even get him a decent pair of shoes. I mean how much can a guy run in a pair of sandals.

Not exactly related to the topic but just my 2 cents. personally, I think ubisoft have dropped the ball in the last couple of years. For starters they need to get a rainbow six/ Ghost recon game every alternate year(Like activision). One of the reasons why call of duty became so big in the last 2-3 years (apart from being a great game) is the lack of any competition. Medal of honor is dead, and god knows what's up with ubi's titles.

Word. Vegas held its own against Gears of War. That speaks volumes. Everyone was playing it on Live. It got amazing reviews and it was a lot of fun in both single and multiplayer. Then they messed it up by not paying enough attention to the sequel.

TBH we have seen what happens when they have a turnaround time of 1-1.5 years to make a sequel. Both RSV2 and GRAW 2 came up short. In length and in ideas. Both of them had more refined gameplay than the prequels but not by much.

So as much as I like the idea of more RS and GRAW (loved them both) I would rather they not go all Activision on us.

+1

I'm happy they're going for new ips and rebooting old ones instead of going the milking route. And it seems to be working out for them. a*s Creed reviews might be debatable, but it did end up selling gazillion copies. And I'm confident they'll have a winner with AC2 as well.

Also, they did go the Activision route with Splinter Cell for a bit with the Shanghai and Montreal studios popping out sequels every alternate year. But gameplay wise there wasn't really a big jump between SC 2, 3 and 4. So I'm glad they're taking their time with Conviction.
