playstation
Okay. Finished this game. Wonderful experience...The game does have that rich moments .....Graphically,Facial expressions,environement...they are really done awesomely....Story of the game is basically in a apocalyptic world....destroyed by wars....only mechs roaming around now...with very few humans left...like 1 or 2 left in radius of say 500-1000 miles....the game graphically does superb job of showing apocalyptic world....there are destructions around you....mechanical e-wastes....i would say it does that at par of pixar movies...and all in real time...so take a bow there NT ....combat is good but sadly enemy variety is bad...i mean through out the game you will be fighting just 4-5 types of regular mechs....i wished they did payed attention there.....boss fights....well i just feel there was 3 proper boss fight through out the game...and that too 2 of them same boss type mechs....though the boss fights were mind blowing specially the first one....really enjoyed it....last boss fight was nothing great in gameplay point of view but from scale point of view looked really nice...music was decent...Characters are all great... and i really mean it when i say it...there are just 3 in whole game but all 3 have been done awesomely both voice wise and in presentation wise....Pigsy ... Enslaved does have few things which i would have liked to see improved....having said that....its overall a great game. I think it definitely is a much deserving game in terms of sales ...after Heavenly sword i started loving Ninja theory and TBH after enslaved my faith in them has increased double fold....Everyone should give the game a try...its got its moments .I am a proud of Ninja theory...it may have lot to learn.....but it also shows sign of going long way.. playstation
Namco: Enslaved was launched at the wrong time Hindsight being 20/20, Namco Bandai's execs had some choice things to say about Ninja Theory's Enslaved, a game that was hailed by many critics but failed to garner commercial success. President Makoto Iwai told Siliconera that despite the poor sales figures, he's proud of the publisher's ability to get it off the ground. "Results are everything for a business unit, so we have to face it. But, we are proud of ourselves for being able to launch that game," he said. But the most telling comments came from VP of marketing, Carlson Choi, who pegged it all on poor timing. "It launched in the midst of a busy holiday season." He went on to say that while the game "had the quality needed to address gamers," it ultimately came down to "getting into the market at the right time." When it launched on October 5, Enslaved had some tough competition in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Def Jam Rapstar, NBA Jam and NBA 2K11 that week alone -- the following weeks would see the launch of several big hitters, including Medal of Honor, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and, of course, Call of Duty: Black Ops. As for the prospect of an Enslaved sequel, Choi isn't ruling it out. "I can assure you, a title like Enslaved, and every title we've worked on in the past, we're going to re-examine them and say what is the potential for the game?" Namco showed interest in a sequel back in October, but that was before the sales figures came in. source may be that was one of the reason ...why it did not performed well even though reviews were great... ★ Kani ★
I agree they messed up with the launch of Enslaved.. I fell in love with the game as soon as I played the demo! and today I got the game in my hands.. So it will be all Enslaved untill Killzone 3 launches ;-)
★ Kani ★
Finished the game today.. here is my quick review.. + points 1) Good graphics.. 2) Great platforming.. 3) Awesome story.. ending was 4) Characters are really done well.. Monkey, Trip and Pigsy.. -points 1) Limited enemy types.. 2) Hugely frustrating camera work.. (When you will be fighting enemies, suddenly the camera rotates.. taking out enemy out of the screen.. you will be throwing your staff in air.. 3) Short Game..only 14 chapters are too less.. Atleast 20 -25 chapters would have been awesome.. Over all this is one of the game which may gamers overlooked.. It is a must play for all.. as playstation said it has it's moment.. The last boss fight with weird camera movement and mechs appearing at citical time were pretty frustrating for me.. almost felt like throwing away the controller everytime monkey died.. but none of the problems are a game breaker though.. But then again ill never forgive NT for what they did to Dante But all i can say is that its a really gripping game.Must play IMO.Ive seen loads of copies being sold on TP recently so now there is no reason anybody should miss it. A game worth spending time on!
spindoctor
A game worth spending time on! i agree completely. the gaming landscape is completely littered with brown and grey sequels of sequels, and i see lots of gamers wishing that there were some original games out there, and this is what they're looking for. it's almost tragic how this game failed in the market. it might not be the best in terms of gameplay and it's a little simple/linear but overall it is an incredible package. it looks lovely, it's fun, it has great characters, great music, a legendary 400 year old story that is retold in a beautifully imagined futuristic dystopia. i for one am glad that i got a chance to experience it. dabba
yup... it's a decent game... no great shakes though... on the ps3.. there is a bit of choppiness n the audio n video go out of sync on quite a few occasions during the cutscenes graphics aren't that hot either n no 6 axis implementation either... NT...
MarketTantrik
My biggest problem is with the awful camera. Keeps shaking all over the place like an octogenarian strapped to a motorized pogo stick.
spindoctor
never really had any issues with the camera. i do think that if you don't like the first 4-5 chapters (which are set in new york), then it's unlikely you will enjoy the rest of the game. i thought that was the best part in terms of setting up the atmosphere, story and characters. plus it looked better than any other section of the game. MarketTantrik
I really like the setting and NT have done a fantastic job deploying UE3 to render all the lush foliage. Plus the voice acting is top notch. I hate the way the camera acts elastic when Monkey's running around. It become even more annoying when you are fighting multiple mechs who surround you. Exactly that was the issue i found in the game too...and you are just starting the game ....in later chapters this really becomes frustrating to some extent.
