wow, a VN based on the warring states! :happydance:

Thats one of my favorite themes and for the same reason had loved Uatawarerumono a lot. Just checked out and looks like it would be good. The links have also been visited before from the vn library, so I guess I overlooked this at some point. Thanks for pointing it out.

And what happened to your PS3? Staying away at the moment?

Actually its the 10th game. But from what I read the stories are more or less separate from each other. Also now I remember why I ignored the game the last time, the description doesn't even sounds like it is a war game.

Yeah you're definitely gonna love it if you liked Utawarerumono. I never played any of the previous games, and I had no problem understanding what was going on. It was pretty f**king hard though.

I kinda moved to Oman. And with all the sh*t we had to bring I wasn't allowed to bring my luv ;_; Vacation in 2 months though so just counting the days now :v

Ok, played it and loved the gameplay. The game was the right difficulty for me and while definitely difficult, I never had too much trouble conquering states. I think you might have spent too many action fans on story progression early, I focused on developing the state and exploring dungeons at first, so later on the army and income made it easier.

But I eventually got bored of the VN part and left it. The story started to turn into more and more of an hentai where every plot progression is just an excuse to **** another princess. The characters are a bit dull and the protagonist is just an annoying idiot. And this has too many rapes depicted, something which I didn't like.

Anyway in short this is a superior war game, something that got me close to total war games (although for not as as long). But don't compare the story or character to Utawarerumono, as a VN this is below average.

Yeah, the content can be pretty hardcore :fear: Although I'm wondering, how much exactly did you play? The story does pick up quite a bit later on. And what I liked about the game was how the game wasn't linear and how there were so many side stories and items you may miss by not going to certain places by certain times. And when you replayed the game, there were so many options, like playing as the rulers of different kingdoms leading to a new story seen from their perspective, and how you can even stop certain plot twists from happening leading to the story progressing down a completely different path. For a VN, I found the game giving a whole different level of freedom. Also, I agree the story isn't gdlk like Utawarerumono or anything, but I don't think it was ever trying to do that. I personally found it rather humorous more than anything, and seeing Rance's antics just kept me chuckling till the end. Heck even the rape was more like happy rape. And the more interesting romantic interests ( Kenshin  ) only turn up later in the game. But yeah, even they don't get a crazy amount of character development or snything. So, if a deep intricate story is your thing, then I guess this game ain't for ya

Wait, did I play a completely different Utawarerumono from you guys?

Wat. Sure the ending was a snooze, but the stuff leading up to it was pretty interesting at least. Especially the plot twist. Although, once I was done the game and thought of where there story had started and where it ended, it seemed kinda batshit crazy

lol no, I enjoyed it, but it wasn't really a masterpiece. I mean, he was f**king every female in the story, and I didn't care for some odd reason.

I really loved Utawarerumono. The characters were brilliant and the multiple heroines fitted into the story perfectly. He was a feudal lord after all.

And I left Rance around turn 40 or so, had conquered upto Mouri to the west and Uesugi/Takeda/Houjo to the east. The things you said sound pretty cool though, especially the replay feature. Will probably get back to it again, just that there are too many games, VNs, and Anime/manga for me to complete atm.

But like I said, the gamplay and non-linearity is revolutionary. Thats why I got more disappointed about the VN part.

lololol, didn't they say it was because the king was supposed to have many wives or some stupid sh*t like that? But seriously which VN gives a good reason for teh sex, really? (The lovey dovey ones don't count @_@) My personal favourite has got to be Mana Transfer! :3

And yeah I agree. But Utawarerumono could have been a masterpiece if it weren't for some stupid sh*t that kept it from being so. At least thats what I felt. :/

Edit: ^^ Dood stop making me jealous. I'm living off manga right now. No games, and I can't dload sh*t or stream anime cos of limited internet ( like 2.5 US$ per GB sob) ;_______;!

What other VNs you planning to read?

^ Meh. Even the anime art style was intolerable, and the VN's reportedly much worse.

Haha most definitely.

Yup, much potential. Most of it was realized, but you can't help but feel that it could've gone just one step further.

I feel your pain. I'd die if I was in your shoes.

BUMP!

Played these VNs ages ago. Can't believe I completely forgot about them till now :v Snow Sakura, Yume Miru Kusuri and Crescendo is School Life/slice of life-ish. Figures of Happiness = supernatural. The Crescendo vid is a slideshow of the CGs, the safe ones. I can't recommend these enough in case you guys haven't played em yet. And I can guarantee that they have deep plotlines, character development

and minimal raep

:)

Waiting for patches for these 2 right now. Played upto chaper 3 in G-senjou, really good stuff, and the VA for the MC is Jun Fukuyama, the VA for Lelouch :D Koitate seems to have a really interesting plot too. Haven't tried the teaser patch yet.

Also, 30% of Fate : HA has been translated :3 It's nice to see so many good VNs getting TL'd these days. Gotta <3 TLwiki.
