Google Wave

I've had wave for about a month now. Don't think I've got any invites yet. I've found that as a basic communication platform it can get pretty disorganized and chaotic. A chatroom would be much more suitable for that.

Google says it's more of a 'collaborative' tool. We'll have to wait and see how it really turns out. I can guess there'll be a big push for integration with the social networking sites to start with...

Nominations sent: Somebody, ThePaink1ller, akashkhannabond007, †åß®∑Z, Rithvik, keyofx, slackerninja, john117, VanillaDuo, zophar, Doobz, Yavo

Couple of my friends were not interested. So I upped the limit to 12 invites. Thats it for now.

I've sent an invite to another one of my accounts. If I get invites on that account, I'll let u guys know.

@Rashroxx: You didnt send me ur email id or I might have been able to add u too.

PS:

From Google Wave:

Google Wave is more fun when you have others to wave with, so please nominate people you would like to add. Keep in mind that this is a preview so it could be a bit rocky at times.

Invitations will not be sent immediately. We have a lot of stamps to lick.

Happy waving!

No bro if adopted it can be of great use in office environment too . No need to go to Conf rooms for conf-call and no need for net meeting (if someone develops a screen sharing plugin ) basically all meeting corporate meetings could be held on this platform provided it reaches that kind of maturity.

I tried convincing my ppl of corporate use potential.

Problems that bounced back:

Its not ready for production use.

We cant host it on private servers.

We dont want corporate stuff on public domain (ignoring the fact that everyone uses gtalk/AIM for IM)

And the last one is the biggie.

But there are already lots of such products available for office use. Cisco Meetingplace is one..

These are indeed valid concerns for a corporate environment. But if your company is using gtalk for "official" conversations and then saying this, then its just BS on their part..

Now if only it was MICROSOFT Wave :P

As much as I hate MS, the one thing that goes in their benefit is that their products are installable and managable privately.
