Shantz bro even I don't now what special to do in COD , its pretty much instinct and anticipation , and also sound plays a vital role in COD , those who have better headphones can detect foot steps and can react quickly and accordingly.

I have played many hours of COD's on PC , but playing with gamepad is slow and different , I'm still getting used to.

In COD learning the maps inside out and popular places to hide and camp , taking cover etc. is necessary , cause whenever u move u have to constantly look at corners and alleys for possible danger and react as fast as possible.

Also whenever moving , try to crouch as much as possible , this helps in two ways , one u don't make much sound while moving , plus ur accuracy improves in long range. This has a negative as well , in close range u won't be able to move and react quicky enough.

So try to balance between the different positions according to the situation.

Nothing special.. I haven't even DMZ'ed my PS3 IP. I have enabled UPnP though, which allows applications to open ports by requesting the modem, so it opens all required ports automatically..

I have done all port forwarding thingy. But again does not having a wireless router create such problems ???

shantz ... just run and shoot ... dont sit at one place and specially when u hv recently open fired :(

also u need lots of practice and patience in the game ... coz COD is all abt maps and covers

So, practice it is.. :P but why do all the indian guys have to be pros :) I get killed as soon as I spawn.. firangi saale sab barbaad hain...

should not.. I have a router as well.. but anyways, not having a router should actually eliminate points of faults..I mean for me, I have to take care of two things, router as well as modem to be working fine, for you its only modem, so it doesn't matter if you have router or not.. Have you see online what ports MW2 uses and opened them? Also try enabling UPnP on your modem..

Edit: BTW, my NAT type shows up as "moderate" in MW2..

Ya for ps3 there r apparently 6 ports that need to be opened. I have opened it all. But no luck. :) Anyways will get the dlink modem, lets hope for the best.

na, not for ps3, i am saying specially for MW2 PS3 version.. Don't get the modem bro without actually finding the issue..

BTW, I searched online and this problem seems to be widespread that many people with open nat are not able to play online.. See this thread on IW forums: http://www.infinityward.com/forum/viewtopi...0&start=160 (there are many more all over the internet).. Apparently this is an issue with MW2 itself..

:( It is not a modem model problem.. I have an airtel connection with a beetel modem and I don't have any issues in playing online...

BTW, I suck at this game :ack:

Just because it worked for you doesn't mean that the problem doesn't exist

beetel makes shitty router that will give you a lotta problems in connecting to cod servers
