I have a similar question!!!

I have Logitech's Z5300 5.1 speakers connected through my PC, right now i have connected my 360's audio out to line-in in my PC.

I want to have full surround sound from 360 through this speaker, what r the options (other than buying a receiver)???

The speaker set doesnt have digital input, in my motherboard (ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe) rear panel there is a SPDIF port, in the motherbaord manual's under the features list it says SPDIF IN/OUT port but inside in the description it says its a SPDIF Out port. Can this port be used for both IN & Out port??? The board also has a SPDIF IN slot for which i need a SPDIF module Is this available in India. I tried asking about this here in bangalore in a few shops, they have no clue about this!!!

If any one has this kind of setup please help me out!

This should help you get 5.1 sound from those Logitech speakers. Someone on the old forum had tried it successfully.

Thats me! I have connected DDts 100 with the Creative 5050 and getting tru 5.1 sound.

By the way its the cheapest good quality av receiver that you can find. Without an av receiver its not possible to connect a 5.1 with analog inputs to the 360.

Whats its price, when did u purchased it!!! Is it still available now!!!

Do u have any idea about the SPDIF IN/OUT port found on the motherboards, will it take input directly from XBox 360???

It might be around 6-7 thousand. check the creative website for dealers in your city. they have a pretty huge list. Yes it should be available.

SPDIF is a generic digital audio i/o port standard. From what you say it must be a Coax one. Firstly motherboard SPDIF ports are 99% times input ports, so of no use to you. They are analogous to optical out(which is another SPDIF port).

As i said your only option is to buy an a/v receiver where in you can connect your pc and 360 both at a time.
