Need for Speed: World Online

I'm sure it will support the Xbox 360 controller at least , as NFS Shift supports the controller and works really well.

I won't be surprised if the game is later on announced on consoles as well , as TDU was great on X360 as well.

I played TDU on PC with X360 controller , was perfect for MMO , but there was no option to zoom in and out of the map with controller , had to do this with mouse wheel only.

I really had wished to see TDU on PS3 , but it never happened , that's why was waiting for some TDU 2 news , but looks like Atari is dead now forever. :(

Hopefully this delivers. :majesty:

it's a free to play game!

I don't think we will be seeing it as a free to play game for consoles even if it is announced!

The world map looks big enough as it will have two huge cities Palmont and Rockport combined from previous two games , just want in car views and all set to go on a long drive. :majesty:
yeah... the in-car view shud be neat and the scenery too... then a long drive along the coast :(

edit: typo

a long drive along the coast with jus 7 more racers coasting with u online? hehe :P

Lol looks like u never played Test Drive Unlimited.

It was also a MMORG , it was a big hit on X360 as well as on PC.

And you could drive alongside 100's of online opponents at once on the map which was huge , Hawaii Island named Oahu.

Title: Need for Speed: World

Developer: EA Black Box / EA Singapore

Platform: Microsoft Windows

Release date: TBA 2010

Genre: MMO Racing

Another free game by EA. Previously they'd revealed free versions of FIFA and TW Golf.

Looks pretty sweet. But is it actually gonna be free? Or is it like "Free to download but paid to play"?

^^ Knowing EA, the game will be free, but you'll need to pay for

- wheels for your car

- menu text to be visible

- to enable the arrow keys on the keyboard

- to disable the in game announcer from screaming "AND ITS FREEEEE!!!!" every 34 seconds

Will this have those usual hot chicks with disclaimers pop up inbetween? "Don't try this on the road or you'll end up braindead or worse" kinda sh*t

I don't really give much of a damn what they say. It's more about them being there or not :D

nope,

you have to Pay for get Nfs points,to upgrade your car first,e.g to have a lvl 10 car in lvl1

otherwise you have play plenty of races to get points,it works like fifa online

Ah yes, so it IS free, it's just that you have the option to pay as well (to upgrade faster). Well we can't complain then I guess.

it will follow the battlefield heroes model. free to download and pay, but you get better stuff with microtransactions.

that's exactly what you will do. you will pay real money to buy points which can then be redeemed for cosmetic items like vinyls, paint jobs, maybe customized garages etc. it's also likely that they will want you to pay for new cars, although they would have to somehow balance out the performance advantage of paid vehicles else their free model would flop. there will also be miscellaneous items like xp boosters etc. which will cost money i suppose.
