Freelancer
My friend was playing on my ps3 this morning n then there was a power cut n right before the power cut there was a power surge.... Now whn power came back, i tried switching on my ps3 n i got this problem, red or green light nothing will glow, n ps3 wont turn on, power cord is fine, tried it in other sockets etc etc..... now my question is "do ps3's have an inbuilt fuse or something ? " also my ps3 was bought from dubai, so will i be getting any warranty ? i have the bill but i never got the warranty card ! if i don get the warranty thn how much approx will be the repairing cost in sony service center ? thnks for reading ! pls reply ! I'm in the same situation here. Although the Sony call center people and even Atindriya Bose has said that they support PAL region ps3s here, the service center guys here in Mumbai say otherwise. If your local service center does not take your console, you can try repairing it from 3rd party dealers. If you're in Mumbai you can try with Salim or Alfa. boltonfan
I'd taken my console to the Sony service center in Andheri E yesterday and they refused to take my ps3. But after speaking to their manager and showing them an interview of Atindriya Bose taken by Sam, stating they do support PAL region consoles here, they said they'll get back to me tomorrow. Hope they offer me the discount

The customer care said the exact same thing to me. Try taking it to the service center anyway if you cant find the warranty card. Atleast you'll come to know whether the sony service center are offering support for your OOR(PAL) ps3.

Same thing happened to me twice. But then i used to remove all cables and then reconnect them after an hr or so and it worked fine for me later. luckily it was some kind of temp problem for me. Thn i immediately started connecting my PS3 to a Surge Protecter and that surge protecter is connected to a UPS

Freelancer
So i went to Sony Service Center in Indira Nagar (which is 1 n half hour away from my place) , they asked me all abt my ps3 n as soon as i told them that i bought it from dubai they said they cant do nethng n asked me to go to another service center in Mysore Road (which is 10 mins away from my place)..... So i went to the other one n they were polite enuf to look into my problem n asked me for the bill n i said i don have it....they asked me to get a soft copy of the bill through email from the place i bought my ps3 n without the bill i wont be getting any support.... I called up the store in dubai n asked them for the invoice n they said they wont give me the bill untill i bring the ps3 to their store In short m screwed, i have ruled out the Sony Service center option n now m considering screw the warranty n get it repaired from some1 else...so is this a good option ? can ne1 tell me whr can i get my ps3 repaired in bangalore ? also is thr nething valuable in ps3 tht the servicing guy might remove ? pls reply ! Freelancer
sorry no fake bills ! I had a friend who said he wants to try something with my ps3, so he took it ! jus an hour back he brought me back my ps3 n now m having another problem : - the lights were glowing in following order - red - green - yellow thn blinking red - now its glowing green for a sec n then red - stopped blinking red whn i asked wht he did he said he opened up the ps3, took the power supply unit to an electrician n he changed the capacitor which was faulty, also there was a fuse inside the psu which was blown n he bypassed it....(apparantly my ps3 has become like a dead body to experiment on) SO ne1 has ne idea what might be wrong ? Is something wrong with power supply or my PS3 ? i hope its the former !
