Help Needed about Xbox360

I will be buying a Xbox360 soon, maybe even tomorrow.

I would like to know all the DO's & Dont's about the 360.

1)Will i get a PAL console here?

2)Are games easily available?

3)What are the failure rates of the arcade?

4)What exclusive games are there except GTAIV DLC, Halo, Gears & Forza? (really don't know any other names)

5)Which multiplats are worth buying for 360 instead of PS3?

Things i should look out for, so i get the latest arcade. This is very important i think as i don't want an old console, which was collecting dust on the Shelves.

Please help me out as i don't know much about the non-dark side.

Here are your answers...

1. Yes, you'll get a PAL console.

2. Yes. They are easily available. In fact, you can check out all the awesome IVG offers when new games release and there is also the trading section where you can acquire games relatively cheaper :P

3. Well, the latest Jasper models are really good, but you SHOULDN'T worry about it, since you'll be getting the standard 1 year warranty for regular stuff, and 3 year warranty for RROD, so trust me, you're covered :P

4. Well, you nailed most of the important ones :)

5. Well, when it comes to multiplats, Xbox 360 ALWAYS gets the better version (99% of the time :P) coz it's easier to develop on the 360 and relatively difficult on the PS3, so some producers/programmers slack off :P You'll see a whole lot of them comparison reviews on gametrailers, etc., go check em out :)

Well, mostly the newer Arcade 360s being released here are Jasper models. I think the 60 GB one is also a Jasper.

Also, I would recommend you to check out a few IVG vendors. They have some really GREAT pricing for a new Xbox 360 console. They even throw in some a few games with the purchase and still the price is around 1k lower than the ones available in showrooms  This way, you'll also be 100% sure that you'll get the latest model and not the one catching dust on the shelves :)

If you've still got questions, then do let us know :)

Edit: PS3 Lovers, please don't consider this post as a bashing to the PS3. I consider PS3 as one of the best consoles. In fact, if I win a PS3 slim in the IVG contest, I've decided to buy all it's major titles, and what can I say....am a DUALSHOCK LOVER :spank:

Bioshock, Mass Effect, Fable 2, Crackdown, Lost Odyssey, Left 4 Dead, Ninja Gaiden II, PGR series, Blue Dragon, Too Human and more...

P.S - Some of them are also on the PC...

bioshock is only a timed exclusive, its there one the ps3 now

Yeah...As usual, it was a pain in the a*s for them to create it from the ground up for the PS3.

The best part about 360 that I really like is how the programming for it and the PC is relatively the same with only a few modifications, making it relatively easier for them to port it to the 360 or vice versa :spank:

THanks KG & Rakesh.

thanks again KG

@ Rakesh Thanks for pointing out Crackdown, i heard it is a game that i would highly like.

Now someone just tell me how to spot a Jasper easily.

& some pointers on how to use 360 & it's discs to ensure their longevity

 You would probably also like Saints Row :(

As for the tips... Just keep your 360 well ventilated and never shift the console when the disc is inside it...

but is it wise to buy used( so much old) games? as i heard 360 discs tend to scratch a lot?

Also pls sum1 tell me how to spot a jasper arcade

Yup... You will have to be careful about the condition though... But some people maintain the games excellently :( Or you can probably get it for cheap on Play-Asia or any of the UK websites... I got my copy of Crackdown for Rs. 650 from PA when they had an offer last month...
