PlayStation still has a long way to go in Indian market

Why do they want to push educational stuff on Indian market. They think parents will buy their children a PS2 to help them in preparing for their IIT exams? Thats BS!

Secondly, developing enticing India-centric content (gulli cricket) to push hardware is a great idea, but, with all due respect, using Indian developers is not. It seems like they want to score 2 wickets on one ball - indian development teams are cheaper to work with, and they score brownie points for "supporting" the community. Yeah rrrright - with the end result that you have shitty end product with no takers and everyone abusing Indian developers. Really bad strategy. They gotta take it one at a time. If they really want to push hardware, get a decent and a bit more expensive experienced development team to create a polished game which will cause ripples not only in India, but in other regions as well - a great game never goes unnoticed irrespective of its regional setting.

Exjaklty. If they want to support Indian developers they should build a studio here, get some top level guys from other international studios and put the base level developers from India under them. They should grow them rather than paying them peanuts for doing a job they arent competent to.

1. A studio in India does not mean it needs to develop games exclusive to India. Give them international exposure. Show them how it is done by exposing them to senior development teams.

2. Meh. lesser evil - thats it.

@Grimjoww - there are endless things to do. They can start by doing one simple thing - giving a neat game which appeals to everyone (more to indians to some degree) and developed by some good developer (indian or foreign - doesnt matter). They might say its chicken and egg and it costs money - and thats what I am contesting! They are asking us to accept and praise a sub-standard product because they dont want to spend money. Not only that, they try to make us feel guilty for thrashing a bad product - this is the height of "patriotismic" marketing!

that Jim (TAVISON) guy was implicitly doing the same if u read our arguments a few pages back.

I did not want to blurt it alond cause, well, frankly he is just a part of the developing them and Sony suits have the control.
