Noctis
^^Three. You forgot (as did everyone else ) UT3. Four if you are willing to count Shadow complex. My personal GOTY so far. I know they werent the developer but still UE3, Epic owned company AFAIK and Epic published game. I cannot forget a UT game. But I had checked its metacritic score and all version were between 80-90. Shadoken was only considering games with 90+ AAA.
Aftrunner
90+ isnt AAA. If it was then Okami, SotC etc would all have been AAA titles.
Noctis
90+ isnt AAA. If it was then Okami, SotC etc would all have been AAA titles. I know, I was just saying that to shadoken. I never bother about metacritic scores.
Shadoken
lol am not saying games that got 88 or 89 sucked metacritic or gamerankings is as flawed as any review site i was just stating it as a reference... 90-99-AAA 80-89-AA wat do u mean 90+ isnt AAA and okami and sotc are AAA
Aftrunner
I dunno, I always thought AAA games were the ones that were made on a big budget, had strong ad campaigns behind them and were projected to sell extremly well. Nothing to do with how they did critically.
Shadoken
umm ..i use gs forums alot and everyone there considers 9+ as AAA nothing to do with budget or ads....a good game is a good game whether it sold or not

Nothing to do with how they did critically. Ya, I'm pretty sure that's what a AAA title is supposed to be. However if they do suffer critically, I think they lose AAA status peace
Shadoken
that limits the games alot i guess ...depending on how much u consider good sales...does the game have to appeal to everyone?..limits it even more
Pushy
@madmage....its the list of top 10 devs this gen....Blizzard is yet to come out with their superb games.... la*da bc...then where's EPIC? **gears anyone** and imo insomniac shouldn't b in top 5 what ever man, i am more pissed that they DID NOT use a ratchet image for awesomniac and oh yeah, IW at 1 is joke. ^^ that people....is a fact this whole article is nothing ut to hype iw's mw2..well i say f u biatch... also no Kojima = insta Fail.......in yer face beech Love the unbiased *cough* article - basically some 16 yr old whiny emo kid wrote this who thinks that graphics pwns everything else. The writer has only really considered action games. This generation should also include the Wii and the DS - and we all know what happens when a Pokemon releases. Actually hold on - 16 yr old whiny emo kid + action games. Homaga is this is your writing? spot on grampy....oh and iw being no.1 makes ur accusation even more valid **multiplayer..cough**

Bulovski
Whenever people say this gen I am surprised they miss out PC and Nintendo and ipod. It's a shame. And they pick only two consoles who sell less than any of the three mentioned. Blizzard is my favourite developer of all time, followed by the now defunct Looking Glass Studios and then maybe Bioware. But Valve = L4D+Orange Box on 360; Bioware = Mass Effect / Dragon Age; and each time the PC version was better. The list is fine - except it's missing Epic. If IW can get in at 1 because of COD4 and MW2 hype machine, Epic deserves to be there just for Gears. Gears is as much a system seller for the 360 as Halo. devil_angel
where are devs like EPIC, valve and Crytek on the list! The list is a faky!
sup bro?
umm ..i use gs forums alot and everyone there considers 9+ as AAA nothing to do with budget or ads....a good game is a good game whether it sold or not There is no written definition of an AAA game. There are way too many parameters which define that. The features, elements, difficulty curve, balance, polish, artwork, audio, marketing and a lot of other factors. Came here to post this. A list of fav devs is very subjective. I, personally, don't consider Valve as a great developer (good but not great). Someone else swears by their products and they are entitled to their opinions as I am to mine. sup bro?
^^ tell me someone you don't like, except Cliffy I am talking about people who are fanatical about LGS. I just put LGS before Bioware / Valve. LGS were awesome, very much ahead of their time. The first LGS game I ever played was Ultima Underworld, back in the mid 90s and spent countless hours on it. Flash forward few of years later I found the demo of Thief on a Chip CD. Played it, was left speechless, got the full version to it. I was so amazed by it that I had to check out their other games (System Shock series, Ultima Underworld 2, Terra Nova). Now, I've lost most of the games except Thief 1 and 2 which I still enjoy.
