Original: Facebook integration, the ability to change your gamercard colors and more are coming to PlayStation 3, if these images from an anonymous tipster are to be believed. The images, spotted by ScrawlFX, showed a Facebook icon in the XMB. More rumors about this possible future firmware update include a new photo viewing option and greater gamecard customization. Largely, the new customization may include color changes. The leaked images were allegedly pulled from PlayStation.com in the UK. As you can imagine, the images have been removed. Sony has a strict policy (like pretty much every company) of not commenting on rumors, but we’ve asked if PlayStation 3 owners can expect Facebook integration. The browser has a lot of issues. It hangs like crazy, you can only open 6 tabs at once, it doesnt respond at times etc. etc. Id know coz Ive used it a lot....a LOOOOOOOT! achilles Posted November 12, 2009 Report Share Posted November 12, 2009 they need to update the XMB first. i dunno but lately it's become inconvenient. i need to be able to distinguish my full games from the demos downloaded from PSN. i need cachaeing of my friends 'avatars' so i dont have to wait a bit wile the crap loads. the trophies need to be stored locally. atleast a cache. need search to be implemented kinda like spotlight in mac os x. the os feels dated to me. oh, and to those who think the browser should be reason enough to not get facebook, a dedicated app always works better. plus they might offer further integration like on XBL.
