arjunsood2003 Posted November 13, 2009 Report Share Posted November 13, 2009 i recently bought a Samsung Series 5 full-HD TV (32'')..and a DVD player along with it..the TV's usb is useless since it doesnt play video.. also the dvd's usb wont play any video greater than a certain height/width..which basically means i cant view nething in HD.. lastly, the TV does hav a PC input, but im not sure tht can help either..or can it (?).. i hav a Sony vaio laptop as well (without HDMI though)..can i use tht to view HD movies on my TV in any way?? pls help me, i really wanna enjoy HD!! thnx.. VGA Cable : hook up ur laptop with the tv using vga cable ! 2. connect speakers to ur laptop line out ! 3. U can use following display options whn u have connected ur laptop with lcd - Single display (primary or secondary , tht means either lcd or lappy screen ) - Clone Display (same thing will be displayed on both ur screens - Dual View (seperate display on both the screens ) 4. Select which ever option u want n then change the resolution ! if urs is a hd ready (like mine), put up the resolution of 1280 x 780 , if not in the option try adding it manually SO MUCH FOR VIDEO , NOW AUDIO ! 1. u can use any decent quality speakers , not an issue , but for a full hd audio experience, use SRS AUDIO SANDBOX, its really amazing 2. Or u can buy Creative Sound Blaster USB Soundcard n connect ur 5.1 speaker using cables or optical ! Most important things to remember : 1. Should have a bean bag 2. Don forget to use a cordless mouse, its really irritating to get up for every little stuff from beanbag 3. Ready n keep all things tht u need like chips, popcorn, ciggies etc before starting to watch a movie if usung a bean bag, its really irritating to get up from a bean bag once u get comfortable on it ! But if you're sourcing your HD from more convenient places, especially those on the internet, you should know that .mkv is not supported by most of these devices (or anything really, except things like vlc). Aftrunner Posted November 13, 2009 Report Share Posted November 13, 2009 Nah its not that. I am not saying they are bad. I have seen 720 rips, 1080 rips and BR discs. All of them look nice but truth is none of them are worth the resources (money or bandwidth) you have to spend over lets say, a good clean DVD. 1k Rs + or 5GB + for movies is not worth the effort.
