Your mind many "trick" itself into believing that HD is better but trust me, DVD looks just as good. On TVs above 40", that's where the difference between blu-ray/HD and DVDs starts to show. On TVs above 40", that's where the difference between blu-ray/HD and DVDs starts to show. dunno..i viewed my HD movie on my 3 yr old desktop monitor (Samsung syncmaster 510N),which definitely is not HD..and even ther the difference btwn the HD movie and an aXXo rip was noticeable.. DVD video is not HD video. As for everyone suggesting VGA, it is the easiest way to start with HD. It is also the cheapest, but involves using a PC/Laptop for playback which isn't very convenient. Another thing is that you will get much (much) better quality through a DVI connection or HDMI connection as compared to VGA. HDMI is exactly like DVI, but with the Audio also combined in the same cable (DVI+Audio=HDMI). If you want the best picture your TV can output, go for an HDMI/DVI connection and HD source. If you are ready to shell out some dough, go for the Western Digital HD Media Player or the Seagate Freeagent Theatre+ player. These are totally worth it as they can play most formats through a USB hard disk. The WD player even has hacked firmwares available online which add more capability to an already excellent player. These players play almost all downloaded content and blu ray rips flawlessly, and connect via HDMI to your HDTV. Let me know if you need more help yeah i knew bout the HD part..as for the rest of it..my lappy has only these ports: a 5pin S-video, a 15 pin vga/d-sub, a i.s400 (Firewire).. afaik, theres no DVI..so my only choice seems VGA..as for the players, i cant shell out more aftr buying the tv now ..but anywy, hw much r they for? lock the topic if ull want, my query's been resolved.. thnx a lot to all Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
