vinitwins
^ there's no international warranty, you'll need to pay for shipping charges in case you experience any problems with the console (failure rate is pretty low @ >5% compared to the 360's ~20%). the ps3 has a universal power adapter, so you can use it worldwide. Hot-Drake-Pixel
I would like to know If I buy a sony ps3 from USA with bill and warranty, Will I be able to avail my warranty in India if anything goes wrong? also are there any known issues of ps3 hardware failure? ps3 international warranty?? I recently visited Sony Service centre in bangalore(indira nagar) with a friend of mine. It clearly mentioned that PS products bought outside are not covered under warranty. I wanted to enquire about paid servicing(just in case) and talked to one of the senior hardware engg. As per him they can inspect and troubleshoot the PS3. If it is any configration related issue they will resolve and train the user to do it on its own for no charge. But no spareparts available yet, simple because no PS3 has come for repair yet. I was amazed to hear that not a single PS3 has come back to Sony throughout india. I got a distinct impression that sony is silenty scaling up its push for PS franchise. Big PS3 billboard and table flippers at service centre. All Sony Worlds have PS3 demo model on showcase along with plenty of PS2 and PSPs. This was not the case a month back. FYI- 500 bucks for PS2 servicing without warrant. 1000 bucks for PS3.Spare parts separate.

The Coolest thing is power plug has a built in fuse to protect the console against any spike.
Hot-Drake-Pixel
FYI- PS3 bought in UK is covered in UK, Ireland, Australia and Newzealand. I would advice, if you are planning to get your PS3 from US, better make sure of its world voltage thing.

But somehow it is not working. I used it when in US. Back in India; I got a step down converter to convert voltage from 240 V to 120 V. Not sure what is the problem. I tried it on the NTSC system on my TV; still not working.

SandeepKulkarni
cud u pls elaborate I purchased PS3 in USA & used there without any problems. I took it with me while travelling back to India & now trying to use in India. Currently I am using it with a Sansui 21 inch TV . This TVs does not have HDMI Input. (by the way I am in the process of getting one HD TV.) And I am trying to use audio video cable that came with PS3. And somehow nothing comes on the TV. So I assume problem would be with either TV or voltage. ( While in US I remember setting up the video output from PS3 to TV by HDMI & Audio by the A\V cable (one with red, white & yellow outputs).) If the problem with TV I should atleast hear audio; but nothing comes it starts with goes off after a while. So I am thinking it might be a problem with Voltage coz it is clearly written on the back of PS3 about voltage is 120 Volt & 3 Amp with 50-60HZs. But not sure what is the problem. Hope this helps. It would be really nice kinda like Apple Protection Pack Croma has extended store warranty. I bought it for my HTS for mere 900 rupees.
