Fire Wolf
Could someone recommend me any good laptops at around 30k? Looks like the HP site has been refurbished with prices removed.

Fire Wolf
u buyin for use durin ur fresher year?go for somethin around 45k....frm acer or dell..great value Nah, I'll be buying a Vaio which retails at around 70k. Looking for a cheap laptop for my grandpa; probably HP/Compaq.
khanak
^^ what vaio are you getting for 75k?
Daedalus
dont get a sony man....dell is way better in terms of value for money
khanak
^^ The looks and feel of a Vaio is leagues ahead of Dells. Dell IMO makes some of the most crap looking computers. Vaios arent really all that expensive actually. Definatly a segment above the Dells but you can get a brand new Vaio for around $
Daedalus
sure...looks better...but dell is value for money..i think
khanak
yea sure you can get some killer deals on a dell, especially when you club it with online coupons. But a vaio is a vaio. if your budget is a little high and you can afford sometihng like the SZ series, youll never look at a Dell again. Daedalus
personally...my cuz has a vaio....he recommends tht id be better off with a dell or a macbook wen i buy a lappy Edited November 25, 2007 by anksam
khanak
I own a HP and have worked a lot on IBMs, Dells and Compaqs, none of them come close in terms of style. As for durability Id say theyre just about ok for 3-4 years of hard use. Im talking about taking your laptop everywhere with you including use in planes and buses. There are different series in Vaios to target different user groups. Even their cheapest series, the CR series feels way better than my HP. When I chose my next laptop its going to be between a Mac and a Vaio. Edited November 25, 2007 by khanak
Daedalus
the thing is tht i want my lappy to be able to hav decent gamin capabilities..for tht..dell seems the best option
khanak
Why not go for an Alienware in that case? Theyre owned by Dell if that makes you feel better. Id prefer to have a lightweight laptop with good battery life thats not too big to carry around, but then again thats just me.
Daedalus
i no dell owns alienware...buy then i cant afford it unless my uncle can get it frm the us ...which rite now seems highly unlikely...i compare the one of the dell xps fully upgraded with the alienware area 51 through their us store...it turns out dell is more expensive...includin the blu ray write and yatayata...btw...how good is a 8700 gt sli card? khanak
Why do you want to game on your notebook? Why not spend the money you save on a cheaper laptop on more games for your 360? Edited November 25, 2007 by khanak
Daedalus
cuz i wont be able to take it wen i do my graduation...otherwise i wud hav saved the money fer games and a ps3
vee-en
well, dell is definitely better value for money..but i agree with khanak....they make such shitty looking laptops..!! style is something they dont wanna focus on....vaio and HP are better in tht dep...but vaio is ridiculously expensive...just coz of the sony brand name....their laptop configs suck badly and prices are sky high....but i agree tht they do have lot of style.... tell u what, have a look at asus also....i have the g1s....amazing laptop...has style and config both...carbon fibre body, etc...its on the higher end price levels....if u are looking for something lesser, there are many lappys tht will fit yr budget....asus lappys are really stylish and are all coming with the latest technologies.... they're really worth giving a look at imo.... khanak
I dont think you should really go by that. Iv got a couple of friends who have had Vaios for the last year and a half with no problem. They are more delicate than HPs and Dells for sure and I guess not the best choice if your not used to handling a laptop. Iv been going through my posts here and dammit I really sound like a vaio fanboy. Edited November 26, 2007 by khanak
