Nr.Draca47
But Yoga series laptops look really ugly... that is one major issue Hahaha , I knew it from start why you werent considering Lenovo lappies. Well, You call y510 UGLY.....Oh so much ignorance. Lemme show you the World's best gaming lappies lappy: Clevo/Origin Eon Series :majesty: Beautiful, eh? Now the Specs, they are skyrocketing...you get Matte display (not that shitty glossy), dual gpu cards (any card you wish bro), dual ssd's, 10 ports, super sturdy build and dunno wat more. Starting at $1500. This is True Gaming Beauty. Far away runner up.....Razer Blade Ultra Gorgeous? The Cons: Only SSD, no disc drive Cost is Rs 1.4lakh+ Gaming is performance...like inner beauty. Man In The Box
I never said I want a gaming laptop dude... no need to use words like 'ignorant.' The laptop is ugly and that's my opinion. As I said in my first post, I would want a decent laptop which can play 2008-10 games and that is fine with me. Don't need to go for those ugly as gaming laptops for which I have no use. I guess HP Envy 15 it is. Man In The Box
Dude y510p is gorgeous. Or you just don't like red backlit? Yeah don't like the red backlight at all. Plus, I somehow just don't like the outer cover of the laptop either. It doesn't look premium at all for me, which is justified for that price. But yeah, I guess different people... different taste. Nr.Draca47
Stop calling them ugly....it hurts bro. And yes, I know u dont want gaming, thts y I gave u a hybrid list. Man In The Box
Sorry I guess... but just because I called y510 ugly, it doesn't mean that I mean gaming laptops are ugly . Some of them are drop dead gorgeous. But yeah I mostly require it for business use and slight casual gaming. Spoke to a person with HP Envy and he has said it's quite good for browsing, youtube, multitasking, and has a decent battery life of 3.5 hours. I can do moderate gaming on it on medium settings without much issues. Hence, I guess I am going to go ahead with that. Thanks for all the suggestions people. ALPHA17
HP Envy Touch Smart 15-J109tx Does it have any advantages over the Lenovo Y510p / Y50? Considering it has an inferior GPU chipset at the same price-point. Also, the Lenovo notebooks are lighter to boot. Man In The Box
Does it have any advantages over the Lenovo Y510p / Y50? Considering it has an inferior GPU chipset at the same price-point. Also, the Lenovo notebooks are lighter to boot. I find it aesthetically much better than the Lenovo laptops. Lenovo's laptop is heavier than this and has only 2 USB 3.0 ports while this HP laptop has 4 USB 3.0 ports. Also, as per this link, the Y510P is not even full HD Other than this, I feel most features are neck and neck. GPU chipset is perhaps inferior but I don't think that much of a difference would mean a lot to me since I won't be using it for any intensive purposes. Also, as per this link, the Y510P is not even full HD The Y50 is at par though, although still lacks the number of USB 3.0 ports. Which in themselves are no great loss unless you have multiple peripherals supporting that standard. Another thing to note is that the Lenovo laptops configuration is dependent on the model number, the technical specification section just details your options. And in both the Y510p and Y50's case, the screen is listed as a full HD TN panel. You may not need the GPU now but who knows about later. Considering most notebooks have very little DiY capability, I would suggest you get the maximum hardware for the price being demanded. Other than that, all I can say is hunt for deals on e-retail sites, eBay et al. Edited August 25, 2014 by ALPHA17

Nr.Draca47
Toshiba S50 looks good to me. The graphic card is better than in hp. Surprisingly, S50 uses i7 4500U, a processor for ultrabooks while HP has i7 4700mq (a better one). Thus, S50 is an ultrabook. I compared that dimensions, s50's is half the height of hp. Then again the same problem, less height means more heat when gaming leading to thermal crashes/BSOD's if played more than 30min(estimated). So, up to you. Rest, read above posts, they will enlighten you further. Lenovo's G series are business lappies. No gaming in them. Also, I think all lappies are looking costly to me. Is just me or some1 else agrees? Edited August 27, 2014 by Nr.Draca47

ALPHA17
^ What do you want the notebook for? I would suggest the Lenovo Y510p at that price range over DELL's offerings. Also, Alienware is over-rated and expensive.
