vinitwins
^ havent considered ASUS monitors (MW201U & MW221U) - surprisingly their prices are absurd (20k & 28k)! V
MarketTantrik
ASUS monitors have been panned in all reviews because of their high prices which do not translate into any significant technical advantages over competing monitors. IMO, Dell has the best current line-up in India.
vinitwins
yes, but the sammy 206BW is looking interesting as well - iirc, the dot-pitch & screen size make 20-inchers more suitable for all-around use than their 22-inch counterparts...? khanak
with prices falling everyday, isnt it smarter to wait a little and get a LCD tv instead. Not that id ever reccomend it but just as an indicator, 27" Sansui LCD tvs are now going for as low as 23k. I believe a 27" Sony is about 28k Im sure the grey market would be even cheaper. I am baised towards the Dell 22 incher based on the performance results (for the 360) in the review below. Am planning on buying this monitor myself. but pray let me know if there are ones which perform better in a console setting. http://www.prad.de/en/monitore/review/2007...ll-e228wfp.html p.s: The marginal price point & quality difference b/w 20 & 22 inch monitors makes the latter more attractive to me. vinitwins
^^ dell is for 19k with a 4yr warranty - was gonna buy it, but the sales rep said the duty has been revised from 12 to 16% - am now gonna get a 26-inch LCD for myself or will do more research on the LG 22inch model (16k-ish) - was problematic (ghosting) in its older iterations, but was fixed in the newer version (1.14 onwards) V
vinitwins
the LG 22-incher is looking pretty good - just have to ensure that the overdrive circuitry (which provides the 2ms response time) uses fw 1.14+ apart from that i'm also considering these 26-inch LCDs: SONY S Series - KLV-26S200A/H http://www.sony.co.in/product/klv-26s200a/...site=hp_en_IN_i Samsung LA26R71B http://www.samsung.com/in/products/tv/lcdt...ux/la26r71b.asp anybody on the forums with first-hand experience using any of the 3 models?? DeeMan
Hey Vinit, Dell seems to be giving a Rs. 3100 off for offsetting the tax component which you referred to in your post. Check the link below for more details. Additionally, if you have delivery made to Navi Mumbai or any other adjacent places you can end up saving up to 900 bucks. http://dellstoreroa01.sg.dell.com/public/c...620&sr_no=7 In either case, the total price including tax comes between 17k - 18k, which I feel is good. Check it out. Have seen the Sony in action in my office, and call me a whiner if you will but I could discern some very marginal ghosting. But then again, this is in isolation and not in comparison or relative to any other LCD panels.
vinitwins
the 3100 off is valid till friday - and the website hasnt been updated to reflect 16% duty (instead of 12%) - ive got a faxed quote from them - 19k for 4yrs inclusive of tax and all rebates. i bought a lg 22" lcd instead for 15k and i'm very satisfied. vinitwins
the answer is a 'f**k YEAH!'. read up on the L226WTQ - it's one of the best monitors in its class. D33P@K
Looks like LG L226WTQ is by far the best in the market, so i am going for it this week, & also 15 K for a 22 LCD isnt bad at all. MarketTantrik
This one wont find its way outside Japan any time soon, but I sure wish it was __________________________________________________________________________ Toshiba's 22-inch monitor touts insane 3,840 x 2,400 resolution (and price) From Engadget http://www.engadget.com/2007/11/02/toshiba...400-resolution/ Ready for yet another 22-inch LCD? How 'bout if it was pumping 4 times as many pixels as just about every other monitor in its class? We're talking 3,840 x 2,400 pixels for a WQUXGA display. Unfortunately, the specs fall off quickly (but not too quickly) from there: 235cd/m2 brightness, 300:1 contrast, and a weak-sauce 120-degree top/bottom and 100-degree left/right viewing angle. Of course you'll need a dedicated (dual-channel, presumably) PCI graphics card to drive that resolution over the monitor's single DVI input. Shipping in Japan before summer for an anticipated ¥2,079,000. Right, a staggering $17,500 or about 50 of Dell's 22-inchers. Update: Toshiba will sell you a PCI graphics card for an additional ¥312,000 ($2,783). How nice. _____________________________________________________________________________
