vinitwins
specs look good, it's 16:9 and supports 1080p (another plus). but i'd read up a few reviews just to be sure there aren't any problems with regards to ghosting & color reproduction. also pick it up from your local vendor - you might get a monitor with dead pixel(s) and most companies don't offer replacements (for dead pixels) unless you have 4 or more spots prominently visible on screen. TRMNTR
As far as the specs are concerned, BenQ E2200HD seems like a beast! I would suggest you go for a TV instead of a monitor (if you wish to use it for other purposes as well)

Dienekes
Dont know much about this LCD but can help you with searching GI. Just search the general chatter section with "Show results as posts" checked. Then you can see all the related posts popping up without any entire thread browsing pains

Kazekage Gaara
I would suggest you go for a TV instead of a monitor (if you wish to use it for other purposes as well) Other purposes for example ? If you mean watching cable, then I have another TV for that and thats mostly for other family members, and I hardly EVER watch TV except for gaming (PS2 and Wii) and watching Xvid movies through a player and all of that I can do it on this monitor specs look good, it's 16:9 and supports 1080p (another plus). but i'd read up a few reviews just to be sure there aren't any problems with regards to ghosting & color reproduction. also pick it up from your local vendor - you might get a monitor with dead pixel(s) and most companies don't offer replacements (for dead pixels) unless you have 4 or more spots prominently visible on screen.V I've checked out a whole lotta reviews, best of them being from AnandTech and TechTree, with AnandTech being the MOST extensive, much of which I couldn't understand Bottom left hand corner, a button labeled "Search Topic". Damn that thing looks so much like a button

lastAvenger
Don't go for the BenQ panel but go for Samsung's 22" which does 1080p too. Reviewers have compared it to BenQ and found Samsung > BenQ OT - Why is this thread still not merged with Ask the Experts Thread ?

Reviewers have compared it to BenQ and found Samsung > BenQ OT - Why is this thread still not merged with Ask the Experts Thread ? Which model of Samsung's 22" are you talking about ? The T220 ? AFAIK, it isn't full HD and doesn't have an HDMI port. If you're talking about some other model (which I can't find on Samsung India), then please elaborate with model number, links, etc. Also, a link to that review you're talking about would be greatly appreciated. Thanx a lot for helping me out Edit: I can't find any Samsung monitor with HDMI input anywhere on the Samsung India site Edit: Okay, I found a Samsung 22" LCD monitor named 2233SW In it's specifications, it shows that it doesn't have an HDMI port. Since am mostly buying this for playing games on 360/PS3, isn't the HDMI port gonna be essential ? or do I just use a HDMI to DVI convertor if I go for the Samsung ? lastAvenger
^ Use the converter and it should work well since HDCP is supported. Sometime back this Sammy model was being sold for 10250Rs. Umang has this benq model btw along with D33pak

lastAvenger
^ I dunno but Samsung panels have always been impressive for me. Good viewing angles, no dead pixels, good specs, price etc

Sometime back this Sammy model was being sold for 10250Rs. Umang has this benq model btw along with D33pak Well, won't it lose video quality if I use a HDMI to DVI converter ? Well, am not a champ at that, so really don't know Also, can you tell me Umang's proper GI username. I tried PMing him and used "Umang" as his name but it said "There is no such member - please check the name entered and try again." dont get samsung ,has a lot of probs (i have used mist ) get a benq its gud It would be great if you could elaborate a little Edit: Look what I found in one of AnandTech reviews of BenQ E2200HD... The only oddity is that one resolution we would expect to work perfectly -- 720P -- didn't even show up on our test system using a DVI input. Even after adding that resolution, however, there were still problems with 720P DVI support, and those problems extended to the HDMI and VGA inputs as well. For whatever reason, the aspect ratio control is wrong regardless of what you set it to when using 720P DVI. It only fills the center portion of the display, and if you select "Full" it stretches the output horizontally but not vertically. 720P is better on HDMI and VGA, but it's squished horizontally to fill a 16:10 AR, leaving black borders on the left and right. It's unfortunate, since 720P support can be important for certain devices (i.e. Xbox 360, PS3). The remaining resolutions all work properly; the only two issues we noticed are that 1280x768 and 1360x768 both had the wrong aspect ratio as well; both stretched to fill the same area as a 16:10 resolution instead of 5:3 and 16:9 respectively. Now what should I do May be people who actually own this monitor and have played their 360s/PS3s on it @720p would be able to elaborate more on this, like Umang and Deepak. Guys....please reply Edit II: May be Rishi [Helios] could elaborate more on this. I have his number, but I don't know whether it would be appropriate to call him about this silly thing at this hour

Kazekage Gaara
i have the same model E2200HD and its pretty good.... Have you played a 360 or a PS3 on that @ 720p ?? AFAIK, a 360 doesn't do 1080p, so my best bet would be to play it @ 720p. Please read up my post just above you. It would be great if you could post your input
Kazekage Gaara
Okay...sorry for the double post guys...but the 720p scaling problem has been solved by a new firmware update. So no issues now This monitor does really seem to be the one for me Although, more input from the owners is appreciated
