Yes this is why I left PC gaming. So much bitching about graphics but no good games to show for.

PC gamers reply -- Crysis

Yes but what else?

I know most of the games look good on PC but who can keep spending fortune on PC? We need games that play well not only the ones that look well.

lol so true, in 2009 only risen, sims3 and plantz vs zombies and some fcking multiplatform games. :|

Lulz. I am using its cheaper sibling. 8800 GTS.

Its getting old but still a cracking good card. I keep thinking about upgrading but aside from Crysis havent yet run into a single game that would require it.

Hehe, I'm probably using the middle-child then - 8800 GT. And yeah it's still holding up really well. Haven't had to compromise quality for performance yet, apart from Crysis.

I think I should be good until RAGE chews up and spits out my card.

Exactly.... not really worth upgrading (as in 'throw everything away and build a new rig') right now until the entire "which motherboard to go for 1366 vs 1156" settles down and all the DX11 cards are out...

Ooops left out AMD. My cousin works for AMD (VLSI engineer) in Texas, but to him I say "tough luck" with the i9 on the way next year

^^

ehhh.. i dont know that, i mean sure PC gaming requires a bigger start up but over a long run it is cheaper (game prices) than a console along with the fact that 80-85% of the time the games look and perform better on it.

free games ftw!!! :chair::nerves::P

btw i think just last year 4870 was released and we all went gaga over it, and now 5970 and pc gamers are going gaga over it...

look at 360, released in 2005...and we still go gaga over it and don't have to upgrade a sh*t on it  (and i mean just the playing platform, wireless controller, HDD are a luxury, even counting this luxry it doesn't cost a hole in the pocket as compared to the PC upgrades)

^^Lets not go down this path again. Have fun paying 2.5k for each game though. And playing it in sub HD. :D

It's not the point. PC is the best tool for gaming no doubt.

The point is when I can play all those pc games on console without ever bothering for hardware setups, why bother for PC. Do not get me wrong this is my first console and I used to be a pc gamer. But now I don't feel the need for upgrading my PC. Hell I even watch movies on my PS3 now. Taking about HD, for most of us HD and sub-HD does not matter much. UC2 was 720p 30fps but can you say that it was bad looking game. Hell no...

Piracy is to be blamed for this situation but face it PC gaming is dying a slow death and most of the PC gamers are to be blamed for it.

^^Its on par. Almost.

@ Bikram. I am playin games on a 3 year old PC which hasnt seen a single upgrade in 3 years. And this set up is out performing any console game with ease.

The whole "upgrade every year idea" is an uninformed idiots argument. I guess if you were a PC gamer you werent a very smart one.

AMD cpus have become real good value for money .. a certain phenom x4 cpu was selling for 5k sometime back a f**king quad for 5k .. now that vfm .

No one is asking you to build a say bye-bye-to-ur-wallet build , a decent quad + a decent gpu (5750 or 5770 for ~10k) will make a good enough system which will serve you another 3-4 years.

But in the end it comes down to the games you play, RTS/RPG/FPS then get a pc , Sports/JRPG/FPS/ActionAdv or plateformers then go for consoles.

when we can buy 18 games for 100 bucks each legit --> http://store.steampowered.com/early-holiday/ :D

Ya because you invested for the future. But most of us don't do that when buying a PC for the first time. Anyway I also dont endorse the idea.

I can build a pc around the latest hardware available right now by investing a good amount of money. It will be good enough for say next 5 years no worries here. But what will I get for investing so much... same games which looks slightly better on pc but is still the same game.

What my point is that if PC can get 2-3 exclusive games every year which are good, then only it will be a good incentive for me to get a good rig.

I again repeat PC gaming is dying a slow death. All the developers love to make games for PC but there is not much incentive in doing so. So we are seeing so many multiplats and no PC exclusive like crysis. Even they have gone mutiplat.
