ThE JuGgErNaUT
This one is perfect for ur budget Thanks! go for plasma - you'll get a larger screen in that budget. and colours are better. All the dealers vr advising against plasma cause of shorter life issues[??!!??] Hi Pranav,I am selling my Samsung Series 6 32" Full HD LCD for Rs.39,999/- Shipped. Bulovski
^^ dealers advise against plasma because plasmas are cheaper and they get lesser commission, and that's why the plasmas are usually set to dimmer lights. Go to ambi mall reliance digital samsung corner. they have the plasma and LED side by side. do a comparison and then decide. the advantage of LED is that it's brighter and slimmer - but are you prepared to pay nearly 2.5 times the price. Plasma will still have better colour because of the tech. As for shorter life issue, a standard plasma has a life of 60,000 hours. That's 6.8 years if you watch the TV continuously for 24 hours a day. Taking average use of 10 hours a day you will need to watch it every day for over 16 years to kill it. I see ur point , + Reliance will have 0% financing, so the dent'll be gradual. LED out cause ttoo expensive as of now. Had gone to ambi Reliance store a few weeks back , thats whr the dude said LCD > Plasma n gave a full presentation [ sales pitch] Also, the salesguy said something bout 'residual image' in a Plasma unit if a pic stays [full or part of it, like scenery] on for long. will go agn during the weekend n check it out properly this time [ had frds small kid along last time, who was pestering to goto the kiddi area upstairs] Gimme pointers on wht to look for bro. If u decide to buy, let me know and i will make sure that u receive the LCD in 1 piece and full working condition or ur money back GUARANTEED not looking for it on an urgent basis dude, thats why this threads in the Techzone as of now, n not in the TP. will buy anytime btw this weekend & the next 15 days. But in case i decide & urz is still available, will tell you either way .

Bulovski
I bought a Samsung 42" plasma for less than 50k, a 42" LCD (not even LED) will cost you much much much more. Just read up on Plasma and LCD on wikipedia before going. Fiddle around with the controls. Ensure there's a hidef video playing. Burn in is a thing of the past. It used to happen a few years ago only if you left a static image on the screen for a long time. That's no longer an issue because all plasmas come with built in burn in protection (grey bands, pixel shifting).
extol
Plasma is an old technology...thts y it goes so cheap..there hasent been any improvement in picture quality , frame rates and so on. For gaming go for an LCD , if u are a movie buff then plasma is ur thing... Also the only development in plasma was the reduction of burn in....LCD goes on improving its response time , Depends now its a personal choice. I personally pay 10k more and get a 37" LCd than a 42" plasma.
silv3rgunn3r
for 45k the sony bravia 32'' klv32v550a/b model is impressive.
mukhtadir
if you are looking at 32 inch then samsung series 5.. i think you will get it for not more than 33 - 35 k.. i got mine for 37.5k 5 months back.. I am not sure about the picture quality difference between series 5 and series 6 but the price difference between the 2 is kinda not justified
