Shantz
You can encrypt the folder using Windows 7's in built encryption. I don't think that will protect the folder from deletion..He would need to use something that creates an encrypted partition kind of a thing for that (e.g. using true crypt or i guess similar thing for windows inbuilt is bitlocker but never used it).. The other thing is, who he wants to protect it from? like the other people who use the same user account (which is common for windows users) or different accounts. I'm not sure how Windows allows decrypted access to these folders, through logon process or if there is a separate password..

Shantz
i wanna protect it from same user that is mai ADMINISTRATOR ............n truecrypt file can be deleted ............ yes, file can be.. but as i mentioned to avoid deletion, you need a "partition" encrypted.. if you are working as admin: 1. Almost nothing can prevent one from deleting a file/folder unless it is in an encrypted partition which is locked, but then you can delete the partition itself. 2. You should not be allowed to use a computer because a. You use your computer in admin account for normal use b. You allow others to use the same account and still expect your data to be safe. After the above, there is still a method by which you can prevent deleting, i.e. by "locking" the file. Look for LockFileEx function and write a program around it to lock all the things under your folder and you can prepare a simple pwded program. THough that is also not foolproof, as there are many unlockers available, which can release the locked file handles from these and allow to delete.. Hope that helps..
